PARISH OF PLUMPTON
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
Pursuant to section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, that due to the
resignation of Paul Burford, a vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for the
Parish Council.
If by 19th August 2026 (14* working days after the date of this notice) a request for
an election to fill said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer , Ian
Fitzpatrick, Lewes District Council, Town Hall, Grove Road, Eastbourne, BN21 4UG,
by TEN electors for the said Plumpton Parish, an election will be held to fill the said
vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.
If an election is called (**60 days), it will take place not later than 22nd October 2026.

Announcement from South East Water

Due to lower than average rainfall, continued hot weather and high demand, we’ve started to see a decline in river levels and need to protect some groundwater sources.

This means we must now introduce hosepipe restrictions in Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire to join Kent where there are already restrictions.

We’re urging everyone across Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire who’s supplied by us to please follow these restrictions straight away, to protect your water supply immediately, and the local environment. The restrictions will be in force from 00:01 on Saturday 25 July 2026
