🍻 Firstly, thank you to everyone who came along to Lesmahagow Highland Games today and helped make it another fantastic day for the community. 🎉
However, there is something we need to address.
Every year we see more and more people bringing their own alcohol onto the field rather than supporting the beer tent. 🍺 What many don’t realise is that the beer tent is one of our biggest sources of income on Games Day and the money raised goes straight back into the Games and the local community. ❤️
We only ask one thing of those who choose to have a drink while attending the Games: please support the beer tent. 🙏
When people bring their own drink, it doesn’t just affect beer tent sales. It directly impacts what we can provide for everyone else. The free inflatables, free climbing wall, children’s entertainment and the other free events we run throughout the year all rely on the income generated on Games Day. 🎈🧗♂️🎭
The reality is simple. If the beer tent is no longer financially viable, we cannot continue to provide these extras. No beer tent means less income. Less income means fewer free activities. Eventually, it could mean attractions disappearing altogether. 📉
As a volunteer-run organisation, we work hard throughout the year to put on an event that the whole community can enjoy. 🤝 We don’t ask for much in return, but we do ask for your support when it comes to the facilities and services provided on the day.
If you value the Games, the free attractions for children and families, and the events we provide throughout the year, please think twice before bringing your own alcohol. A drink bought at the beer tent is an investment in the future of the Lesmahagow Highland Games. 🌟
🍺 Support the beer tent. 🏴 Support the Games. ❤️ Support your community.
