Historic Kilmun’s famous water-powered Norman & Beard organ will be centre stage again at the next recital on Saturday June 13th at 2.30pm, when organist Philip Norris will be playing an attractive and varied programme showcasing the organ’s remarkable versatility, in the church’s wonderful acoustic.

The programme will be light and bright, including the rather zany Bolero by French composer Louis Lefebure-Wely, a prelude called Praise Him (in the style of Handel) by Sigfrid Karg-Elert, as well as English composer Christopher Tamblings’s light and
entertaining Sortie, and the exhilarating Fiat Lux ( Let there be light) by Theodore Dubois.

There will also be a Trumpet Voluntary by John Stanley, and 2 new arrangements of some well known Scottish melodies as well as an arrangement of a beautiful Air by Malcolm
Arnold, which comes from his ‘Four Scottish Dances’.

Entry to the Saturday organ recitals at Kilmun is free, though donations are very welcome and can greatly assist with the upkeep of the building, as well as the organ. Refreshments
will be available. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal and all are very welcome!
