We have been up and running a few weeks now and we are very busy with around 26 cats/kittens in at the moment.

Part of the numbers is we took in a group of 13 cats who have all needed quite a bit of vet treatment to get them ready for rehoming, we are pleased to say they are doing really well and we can now start finding them new homes.

They all have very different personalities and needs but please follow the link to find out more about them....

🐾 Kitten Rescue in Crosthwaite 🐾

On Friday, we received a call from a concerned member of the public at a local caravan park after a young feral cat had chosen the dry space beneath her caravan to give birth.

Two of our cattery staff, Kai and Jen, went out to investigate and set a cat trap for mum. They returned later in the day after mum had been successfully trapped and her four tiny kittens collected.

The little family is now safe and settled in one of our kitten pens at our cattery, where mum is caring for her kittens and they are all feeding well.

Mum will be staying with us until her kittens are old enough to care for themselves and be rehomed. She will then be released back to her territory.

A big thank you to Kai and Jen for giving up their free time to help, and to Linda and Danny for contacting us and ensuring mum and kittens received the care they needed. They were beyond helpful in this rescue, the outcome could have been different if they didn't take action like they did.

Rescues like this are only possible thanks to the support of our community. If you would like to help with the cost of food, veterinary treatment and ongoing care for cats and kittens in need, donations are always greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your continued support.

Thanks to everyone who came to our bat walk event last night, we had a brilliant time!

RSPCA outreach officer Charlie gave a fascinating talk and we used the bat locators to detect common pipistrelle, daubenton’s, noctule and soprano pipistrelle bats swooping and feeding around us along the river Kent.

If you want to learn more about bats and conservation have a browse here.
