This Saturday we’ll be at Little Fant Farm Market!

If you’ve ever wanted to ask us anything about greyhounds, lurchers or sighthounds, come over and have a chat.

We’ve got some new dogs arriving next week too, so if you’re thinking about adopting, fostering or simply want to learn more about what these dogs are really like, this is a great chance to speak to the team.

Pop down, say hello and ask us all your questions.

Here’s Sammy doing what he does best… being nosey and making sure he knows exactly what you’re up to!

You may have noticed from our recent posts that Sammy really does love being involved. He’s the kind of dog who would happily keep you company around the house, supervise whatever you’re doing and then settle down nearby for a snooze.
He’s also not fussed about walks — a secure enclosed field for a little wander and some fresh air suits him just fine.

Sammy is definitely more of an indoor, companion dog than an adventure hound, and for the right person, we think that could make him absolutely perfect.

We have some new lurchers arriving over the next week — and these are just two of them.

Meet Cashew (the tan lurcher) and Acorn.

Both are strays, so at the moment we don’t know a huge amount about them. Once they arrive and settle into foster care, we’ll be able to learn much more about their personalities and the kind of homes they’ll need.

They’ll be added to our website soon, but if you’re already thinking about adopting a lurcher, you can complete an application form through our website.

For these dogs, please bear in mind:

🐾 You’ll need to be around for most of the day
🐾 A very secure garden with 6-foot fencing all the way around
🐾 No potential escape routes or “launch pads”, such as bins or planters against fencing
🐾 An active home ready to give them the exercise and stimulation they need
🐾 No children or cats

Please keep an eye on our social media for more updates as we get to know Cashew, Acorn and the other new arrivals.

Join us for our Howl-o-ween Walk! 👻 Saturday 31st October!

Last year, more than 50 hounds joined us in their spookiest outfits, and this year we’re doing it all over again!

Come along, get into the Halloween spirit and enjoy a fun walk with fellow sighthounds and their humans. Whether your hound wants to be a fearless ghostbuster, a creepy creature or simply show off their cutest Halloween look, all costumes are welcome!

🐾 Location: Mote Park – meet on the green outside the Café - /

🐾 Walk: Around 45 minutes
🐾 Route: Buggy + wheelchair friendly
❤️ Suggested donation: £3 per dog

Female-only foster home needed for a young sighthound. ❤️

We have a sweet young girl coming into our care who is currently very frightened of men, so we are looking specifically for a female-only household where she can feel safe and begin to build trust at her own pace.

She will need someone with experience of nervous or frightened dogs who understands that progress may be slow. What she needs most is patience, space, consistency and lots of gentle reassurance while she learns that she is safe.

We are looking for a foster home that can offer:

❤️ A female-only household
❤️ Based in Kent or the surrounding counties
❤️ No cats
❤️ No children
❤️ Another calm dog may be suitable, but they would need to meet first
❤️ A secure garden with 6ft fencing
❤️ Someone willing and able to travel to collect her from Kent
❤️ Regular updates and photos so we can support you throughout

Please note: this is a foster placement, not a trial adoption.

Because this little girl is already frightened and unsettled, stability will be incredibly important. We need someone who can genuinely commit to giving her the time she needs rather than returning her because she isn’t immediately the right fit. We may not have another suitable foster space available at short notice.
