What a busy weekend for Arabian showing! 🐎✨

We were delighted to see another successful run of affiliated shows across the country. A huge congratulations goes to our two newest competitors who have secured their coveted tickets on the HOYS bus for the NeedleSmart, John Illingworth and Cliff Kirby Ridden Purebred Arab of the Year Championship ! 🏆🚌

Thank you to every organiser, steward, judge, sponsor, volunteer, owner, rider, handler and supporter - your commitment keeps our Arabian showing community going, providing opportunities for competitors at every level. 💛

🏆 Congratulations to 14 year old Hollie Brewell and Cotswolds Shaquille (Alonzo x Cotswolds Malikah) on completing their first two-day 160km endurance ride at Pembrey! 🐴💚

This fantastic achievement highlights not only the versatility, stamina and heart of the Arabian horse, but also the dedication and talent of our young riders.

It is wonderful to see youth competitors achieving such success and enjoying the sport at the highest levels alongside their equine partners.

Well done Hollie, Sharqui and all the team behind you! 👏

🎉 GCAT are very kindly offering complimentary horse entries to their show in London on 📅 14–16th August 2026.

They kindly ask that the nominated horses meet the GCAT qualification criteria (with the exception of yearlings), namely:

🏅 1st–5th place at a World Championship, Title Show, GCAT Show, A Show or B Show; or
🏅 1st–3rd place at a National Championship, C International or European Show; or
🏅 1st place at a Specific Origin or C National Show.

🐴 The 4 C Shows, HOCON, South East, South West and Midland Festival will be allocated 4 tickets each. These will be for the Gold Champions 🥇 in the Filly, C**t, Mare and Stallion sections.

📋 Can all show secretaries please submit their results to Linda at the AHS office straight after the show.

📞 The owners will then be contacted and offered the ticket. GCAT would like more UK horses 🇬🇧 to attend this year, so if the Gold Champion declines the ticket we will then offer it to the Silver Champion 🥈 (as long as the horse meets the qualification criteria), as the nominated horses will be expected to attend the show.

🏆 At The Nationals we will be offering these tickets to our Gold and Silver Champions in the ECAHO section.

⭐ FINAL JUDGES SPOTLIGHT – JULIE JUDGE ⭐

Our final Judges Spotlight shines on Julie Judge, who we are delighted to welcome to the judging panel at the 2026 AHS National Championship Show where she will be the Ride Judge for the Needlesmart, John Illingworth and Cliff Kirby Horse of the Year Show Qualifier classes.

A highly respected trainer, producer and judge, Julie is known for her emphasis on correct production, horsemanship and partnership, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the ring.

An internationally recognised judge, Julie has officiated at prestigious events in both the UK and Australia and is a panel judge for BSHA, AHS, TSR and CHAPS.

We would like to thank all of our judges for supporting the 2026 AHS National Championship Show and look forward to welcoming everyone to Addington this July. 🐴✨

With more than 30 years of experience producing and showing both Purebred and Part-Bred Arabians, Daren brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this year’s judging panel.
