Today, 4x 1015 Cadets and 2x Cadets went flying at 2AEF. With views over the likes of Stonehenge and Salisbury Plains, it was a great day for flying.

The highlight of the day was being told that Sgt Miele spent most of his flight inverted! A huge thank you for the team at 2AEF for providing an amazing first flight experience to all 6 Cadets!

It is with great pride we can announce that CWO Bethan Holmes has been selected by Gp Cpt K Walton as one of the two LaSER nominees for Dacre/ATC75 Sword this year following a competitive interview process at RAF Northolt last month. CWO Holmes was selected as one of the two Sussex Wing nominees prior to this.

Dacre/ATC75 Sword is a national competition in which the winner is selected by as the Best Cadet in the Corps - a highly prestigious award! CWO Holmes has had an INCREDIBLE Cadet career and is a role model to many. As a Squadron, we are immensely proud of her, and look forward to watching her thrive at the next steps!

A HUGE congratulations to our very own Training Officer, Sgt Jon McLennan who has passed his Combined Initial Course (CIC) at RAF Cranwell. Sgt McLennan has been up in Lincolnshire for the past week learning everything he needs to remove those white tabs from his Sgt stripes!

Congratulations Sgt, we look forward to your next chapter!

Celebrating our CFAV’s 🌟

Congratulations to our Officer Commanding on her recent promotion to Squadron Leader 🎉

Squadron Leader Hamilton-Walker took over as OC 1015 in 2023 and has continued to build and develop the unit, sustaining over 100 cadets for over a year. She continues to grow numbers - staff and cadets - as well as develop a unique training program and style to enhance the Cadet experience.

Her support to Sussex Wing was also highlighted whilst wearing her “other hats” as Sussex Sports Officer and Dep Wing Training Officer.

Congratulations Ma’am, we are all so proud of you!

I want to publicly celebrate our success at the Region Field Day last weekend. Region Field Day highlights the top units in the London and South East Region across a variety of events including Drill, Banner, Music, First Aid and more!

2025 saw 1015 qualify for the Foot Drill comp for a 3rd year in a row and the results are now in…

I also want to celebrate the success of FS Middleton who placed 4th in Solo Bugle and 3rd 🥉 in Solo Drummer 🥁🎺

🏆MULTI ACTIVITY COMPETITION 2025🏆

Last weekend hosted our annual multi activity competition, however this year it was with a twist! Usually this event is an inter section competition for the Squadron, but this year we opened up Sussex wide and welcomed 11 other Squadrons! The weekend was filled with fun, laughter, healthy competition and a slightly soggy Saturday morning 🌧️.

The weekend saw 15 teams from 12 Squadrons go head to head in

STEM 🚀
Radio Communications 📻
Leadership 👫
Stretcher Run 🏃🏽‍♀️
Drill 🎖️

Meanwhile on the other side of camp, 1015 Recruits smashed their recruit induction course. 26 x Essential First Aid Qualifications, 26 x Blue Comms Qualifications, introductions to Duke Of Edinburgh, Camp craft, followership and so much more! ⭐️
