Across our 3 locations we managed to collect 345 cards for Amelia. You will be pleased to hear that Amelia’s grand total is now well above her original, now with over 100,000 cards received!!

NEW LOCAL DROP-OFF POINT

We’ve partnered with a local business, Shelley’s Budgens, to set up a birthday card drop-off point. They have also very kindly offered to cover the cost of shipping once all the cards are collected.

If you’d like to help make Amelia’s 8th birthday extra special, you can now drop your cards in store and I’ll collect them by the end of February so they can be delivered together ahead of her birthday.

8,000 birthday Cards!!
Let’s make this little girl’s dream come true!! ⭐️

Amelia is turning 8 years old on the 3rd of March, her dream is to receive 8,000 birthday cards to break a UK record!!

Shared on behalf of our local children’s hospice - this is just awful 😢

We are extremely shocked and saddened to report that one of our beloved statues has been stolen from the grounds of Chestnut Tree House.

The statue is of a little boy sitting down playing with a mouse – he is part of a trio of sculptures showing children playing.

They were installed in 2004 and have since become an iconic and much-loved feature of the hospice grounds - A generous donor funded the statues costing over £5000.

We are calling on our community to make the statue ‘too hot to handle’ by keeping an eye out for it on online selling sites, social media marketplaces, or even at car boot sales.

Please report any sightings or information to Sussex Police who are investigating the incident.

It was taken during the day, so we’re adding extra security measures and closing the car park earlier during the darker months.

Issy’s 3 monthly reviews have been extended to 6 monthly reviews 🎉

Today Issy had her first review in the teenage and young adult oncology clinic based in the newer section of the The Royal Marsden NHS 🫶

Her new team made her feel so comfortable and reduced the frequency of her visits from 3 monthly to 6 monthly based on how good her bloods are looking and how well she’s doing 💪

We’re so excited for her to enter the next stage of her life healthy and strong - uni here she comes 🥹

Mixed emotions today as Issy transitions out of Paediatrics and into the care of the Teenage and Young Adult team at The Royal Marsden NHS 🥹

Her paediatric team has become our Marsden family. They have supported us at our lowest points and celebrated each victory in Issy’s journey. They took on a very sick little girl and helped her battle two life threatening leukaemias and become the strong, healthy young woman she is today. We will be forever in their debt for the incredible level of care, compassion and respect they have shown to Issy and the whole family 💕

Childhood cancer month is an emotional time bringing difficult memories of not only our own journey but also the journies of other brave little warriors who were taken too soon 🪽

We are so fortunate to be fulfilling Issy’s childhood dream of a trip to Walt Disney World with the support of an incredible charity Give Kids The World

Three years ago today our girl was given a second chance with life saving cells donated by her sister, Tilly, and delivered by The Royal Marsden NHS 💝

She is living her life to the full; learning, exploring and growing and we are all so thankful to have her with us 🥹

Thank you all for helping us to raise funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity to show our gratitude to her incredible team, to show our support for those in treatment and to honour those little warriors who gained their wings too early🪽

Happy third rebirth day Issy Martin 🥳

What an incredible day 💝

We walked with 1000s of others in beautiful sunshine for 15 miles between the Marsden in Chelsea and The Royal Marsden NHS in Sutton to raise funds for children fighting cancer 💪

With these beautiful strong women beside us there was lots of laughter and maybe just a couple of tears as we shared stories with others who have been cared for at the Marsden 🥺

The names on my back panel were to honour Orlagh, Maria, Denny and Benji - four of the children we met during our time in treatment who didn’t get to walk today after they were cruelly taken by cancer 💔
