We had the pleasure of a visit from the District Officer, Lt Cdr (SCC) Meek RNR & District Warrant Officer WO (SCC) Meek this week.

The DO kindly advanced Nick to Able Cadet, and Alice to Ordinary Cadet. BZ both.

Earlier in the evening the DWO ran Cadets through practical leadership tasks, giving them a chance to be team members, leaders and to assess teams.

Always great to interact with District Staff and let them see how our Cadets & Staff getting on.

Very proud of our rowing crews at the Ox & Bucks District Regatta today.

The Open Boys crew successfully defended their title as District Champions & will be off to the Area competition🥇

The Open Girls crew, new to rowing together this season and some only having started rowing last year came third🥉

The Junior Boys, again a new crew many of whom were Junior Sea Cadets last season also ranked third🥉

PO Hawkins also rowed on the winning crew in the staff race against Surrey District 🥇

Big thanks to the staff who have trained them, families who have ferried back and forth, and the Surrey and Ox & Bucks District Staff who laid on such a great event. So good to see TS JAGUAR building a strong rowing tradition!

While some Cadets at the river others had a navigation lesson at the Unit.

First they were challenged to look at some charts, identify interesting features, and then create their own chart of an imaginary piece of sea and land.

Then they debated where to place buoys to aid navigation. Cadet Kyle had recently been offshore and had remembered seeing the buoys and lights for real, but the others caught up quickly.

We finished using the NautiNav simulator both to identify light characteristics and learn about sector lights.

The Jimmy was delighted to pass on things he had learned in his voyages and his courses with Ardent Training!

Following Cadet Kyle who voyaged in TS JOHN JERWOOD earlier in the season Able Cadet Januja joined TS JACK PETCHEY today, while Cadet Archie joined TS ROYALIST.

Fair winds & following seas, Cadets, we look forward to pulling up a bollard & spinning some dits on your return!

Cadet Force Adult Volunteers need training, and to achieve the rate of Petty Officer complete four core modules.

Today The Chief and The Jimmy delivered the Core Seamanship module for Probationary Petty Officers from across Ox & Bucks, Berks, and South Wales Districts.

BZ all the students who were all successful, and seem to have had fun as well!
