Feeling blessed for being recognised for the work we have conducted over the last year. Big thanks to Buckinghamshire Council and The Clare Foundation and for everyone who voted for Switch Lanes. We look forward to continuing our journey in supporting positive change in our young people’s lives.
The winner of the newcomer award at this years Proud of Bucks Awards is....
Switch Lanes CIC ! 🏆
Switch Lanes CIC was established in response to the urgent need to support young people in Castlefield, High Wycombe, providing positive alternatives in an area affected by higher levels of serious violence. Driven by a commitment to create safer opportunities, the organisation focuses on building skills, confidence and connection.
They have created a safe and welcoming youth space, offering mentoring and practical activities such as vehicle renovation projects. These initiatives provide purpose and engagement for young people, contributing to improved wellbeing and helping to reduce involvement in harmful behaviour.
Despite challenges in building trust, forming partnerships and delivering complex projects, the team has shown determination and resilience. Key achievements include completing a major vehicle project and securing ongoing support through partnerships with Thames Valley Police and the council.
Their work demonstrates the value of early, preventative intervention, helping to improve safety, strengthen community trust and create better future prospects for young people.
Congratulations to Switch Lanes CIC and the shortlisted: Donell Takudzwa Mungure and Kindness in Bucks
