MEDIEVAL MAY - WEAPONS

There was a diverse range of weapons available to the twelfth century fighter, from swords to axes to maces.

One that we're quite fond of is the fauchard.

What do you think some of its advantages are?

MEDIEVAL MAY - CIVILIANS

While we may love fighting (don't worry, that's yet to come), civilian life forms the backbone of our society. Where would we be without our living history? Whether it is through shared meals at the hearth, displays of work of just chatting and spinning (a common feature found in medieval women due to the amount of work required to produce cloth).

Civilian life is an important aspect of the medieval period, and oft neglected.

Here's to the civilians!

MEDIEVAL MAY - SILLY

Where would we be without our silly shenanigans?

Whether its mishaps at shows, comedic use of Ben's great stature or blow up a boat on Lord Hereford's K**b (don't ask), there's bounds of silliness to be found within Medieval Re-enactment.

Why not share your favourite silly moments in the comments? Funny stories, well timed pictures and videos of shenanigans, all are welcome!

MEDIEVAL MAY - RELAXATION

Relaxation and leisure are important aspects of every day lives, and this is true of the medieval period as well.

While are camps often display the working lives of medieval peoples, we still find time to relax and have a good laugh. We even put on fetes, with a whole variety of leisure activities such as singing, dancing, and physical acts of strength such as wrestling and lifting strangely large hammers.
