Could you help shape the next generation?

At 3 (Helston) Squadron, our volunteers help young people build confidence, develop life skills, and access incredible opportunities including flying, adventure training, leadership courses, fieldcraft, STEM activities, Duke of Edinburgh's Award, and much more.

Whether you can spare a few hours a month or become more involved, there's a role for everyone. No military experience is required and full training and ongoing support are provided. In return, you'll gain new skills, recognised qualifications, leadership experience, and the satisfaction of making a real difference in your local community.

Congratulations to two of our cadets who have recently earned their Blue Wings following their first gliding experience!

The cadets each completed two flights, giving them the opportunity to experience the thrill of flight and see aviation from a whole new perspective. For many, it's a memorable milestone in their Air Cadet journey and a fantastic introduction to the world of flying.

We're incredibly proud of their enthusiasm and achievements, and we hope this experience inspires them to continue exploring the many aviation opportunities available through the Air Cadets.

Well done to all four cadets!

Today some of our cadets had the opportunity to go Gliding with 626 Volunteer Gliding Squadron. The conditions were superb and the cadets had an amazing time. Fingers crossed the weather will stay kind and we'll have a lot more opportunities coming up this year. Keep an eye on the Cadet Portal!

Special thankyou to CI Bates for taking the cadets along. He rewarded for his effort by having a flight too and even managed to take some videos which we'll post separately.
