🛹 A few spaces are still available on our Skateboarding Cruiser Award for children aged 5+ — and it starts TONIGHT at 5pm at The Basement!

Why not pop along, meet the coaches, and see what it's all about?

In partnership with Skateboard GB, Coach Frank will be launching the Cruiser Award, designed to help first-time skateboarders build confidence, learn the fundamentals, and experience the thrill of skating.

✅ 6 Hours of Fun!

These sessions combine practical skateboarding skills with essential theory, helping participants become skate park ready for the summer holidays. By the end of the course, we'll have you prepared to progress onto the ramps with confidence.

We have boards and helmets available to borrow.

If you’re in Years 7–13, come along from 6pm–7pm for an hour of coached skateboarding. Whether you’re learning new skills, landing new tricks, or just looking to skate with friends, this session is for you.

Looking for a beginner session? The Cruiser Award is also running from 5pm–6pm every Thursday, helping young skaters build confidence and learn the fundamentals.

Not sure if it’s for you? No problem — come along, give it a try, meet other young musicians, and see what it’s all about. No pressure, just great music, good vibes, and the chance to be part of something exciting. 🤘

We’re opening our doors to the curious people of Helston ✨
Whether you’re thinking about joining, want to see what The Basement is all about, or just fancy a chilled day of free activities, come hang out with us from 11am–4pm 🙌

Expect a relaxed vibe, live demos, performances, music, skating, dancing, creativity and more 🎶🛹💃

🛹 What is the Cruiser Award?

The Cruiser Award is a beginner skateboarding programme created by Skateboard GB to help first-time skaters build confidence, learn the fundamentals, and progress safely on their board.

Throughout the course, skaters will learn the 6 fundamentals of skateboarding, with each stage focusing on a new skill to help them improve week by week.

✨ Every participant receives:
�✔️ A progress card for each stage with tips on how to practise the skill�✔️ A sticker for every stage completed�✔️ Coaching from experienced skate coaches�✔️ The chance to build confidence and skate independently

Once all 6 stages are completed, skaters will receive an official Cruiser Award certificate to celebrate their achievement! 🏆
