We have been providing Guildford and the surrounding areas with a diverse programme of live music events for over a decade. Run by a collective of friends, we're proud to serve our local area with live music and community events from Guildford SOUP to our youth music programme The Project. Also available for private events from everything from wedding receptions to 40th birthday parties with catering, why not pop in for a drink or something to eat?

Very excited to be welcoming Old Mervs to the Boileroom next month!

An unbreakable bond shared between lifelong mates, Dave and Henry hail from the tiny farming community of Kojonup, a town three hours south of Perth, Western Australia.

Starting out as school friends and rehearsing in a makeshift space in an old farm shed, Old Mervs are a far cry from their humble beginnings.

Riding a wave of wins, Old Mervs are celebrating a massive 2025 after the success of their ARIA-charting debut album release and sold out tours across Australia, the United States, the UK and Europe.

Visionary artist Jesca Hoop returns with her anticipated new album Long Wave Home out 1st May via Last Laugh / Republic OfMusic. The seventh solo album from the California-born, Manchester-based songwriter took shape amidst a period of both personal and geopolitical upheaval: a web of schisms that seemed to reflect one another as they unfolded. It is the first album Hoop produced by herself, and it marks both a fresh start and a deepening of her extensive, multifaceted discography. Across the record's rich and sumptuous tracks, Hoopdeeply considers what it is that people owe to each other: in individual relationships, in community, and as witnesses to the broader world.These days run thick with terror.Long Wave Homesinks into it and surfaces anew with a nimble, inquisitive spirit.

Walt Disco make emotionally rich electronic rock with scale, confidence, and intent. Fronted by Jocelyn Si (she/her) alongside Finlay McCarthy, Charlie Lock, Lewis Carmichael, and Jack Martin, the band channel big feeling through deeply personal songwriting that is direct, immersive, and fully formed.

Following the acclaim of their debut album Unlearning, the band have continued to build momentum with a growing international audience. Recent tours supporting Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark across Europe and the US, alongside headline shows in North America, marked a clear step forward and affirmed Walt Disco as a band ready for bigger stages.

Now firmly in a building phase, Walt Disco are focused on developing their live show, releasing new material with intent, and expanding their world at a steady, confident pace. Eat Static, formed in 1989 by former Ozric Tentacles members Merv Pepler and Joie Hinton, are pioneers of the UK’s underground electronic scene. Known for fusing trance, techno, and psychedelic influences, the duo carved out a niche with their science fiction-inspired aesthetic and experimental live shows. Eschewing guitars for sequencers and samplers, they embraced early rave culture while retaining a progressive rock sensibility. Their debut Abduction (1993) cemented their reputation, and subsequent releases pushed boundaries with genre-blurring soundscapes. Even after Hinton’s departure in 2008, Pepler has kept Eat Static alive, touring and releasing forward-looking, extraterrestrial-inspired electronic music.�

New Zealand disco-boogie outfit Flamingo Pier plant some Brooklyn roots with their fresh new ‘Beneath the Neon EP’ on Razor-N-Tape. Known for parties in East London and their massive hometown festival, as well as previous releases on Soundway, the Kiwi collective deliver a trio of new songs that solidify and expand their signature danceable blue-eyed indie-soul sound.

Lake Malice is Alice Guala and Blake Cornwall, from Brighton U.K. Influenced by Japanese Anime in style, writing about past trauma and real-life experiences; the band is a fast-growing force in the alternative scene. The band’s splicing of hyperpop and metal has earned them two nominations at the Heavy Music Awards in the ‘Best UK Breakthrough Artist’ and ‘Best Breakthrough Live Artist’ categories. Support for Lake Malice includes BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang! Radio, as well as receiving attention from the likes of Kerrang!, Metal Hammer and Rock Sound to name but a few to date.

Lake Malice hit the ground touring in 2023, appearing as special guests for Enter Shikari, Skindred, Bloodywood, Vukovi, As Everything Unfolds and Vended across the U.K and Europe, as well as playing The Great Escape, 2000 Trees and Download Festival. The band ended the year with their debut headline shows in the UK and Germany, with The Black Heart in London selling out quickly and the band subsequently adding a full UK headline tour in March 2024.
