As Summer arrives we have had a really busy week supporting local homeless people, many new faces have arrived in town. As always we do our best to support those who have been referred to us, supplying new trainers, coats, joggers, jeans, toiletries, coffee, more coffee, socks, pants, t shirts, sweatshirts etc. etc. It was, as always, lovely to meet Katrina from East Norfolk Medical Practice today who came in to collect clothing she requested, for a local homeless lady who she is supporting, and earlier in the week, members of CGL who used our shop to book medical appointments for two of our regular homeless visitors who were having a coffee and general moan !
A massive Thank You to Kelly and Mark who spent an incredible day volunteering for us and they did a complete ‘stock check’ of Great Yarmouth Town FC merchandise ahead of the new season, they were both incredibly supportive of our homeless visitors who really engaged with them, and had a laugh! Thank You to M&S Great Yarmouth for your donations, the flowers were really well received, and one bunch got a smile from someone who rarely does so.
We also had Noel from GY UP who has been doing some wonderful work organising a new photocopier, it was great to see the amazing first run of copies come out for a local social entrepreneur.
Thank You so much to everyone who has donated to us. The two lovely ladies who came in this morning with a backpack full of lovely stuff and kindly also donated the back pack, which we gave to a homeless gent with his life in carrier bags, he was genuinely grateful. And everyone else. Thank You to all our wonderful customers and it’s lovely to have some banter with magnificent holiday makers who are out and about..
We go again tomorrow…Please consider us if you are having a clear out…it is what is keeping us going and supporting people. Thank You
