If you are looking for a relaxing, nature based festive workshop we always highly recommend Max! He's facilitated lots for us in the past as well as planting and maintaining our fedge at Polmadie Plots. Lovely to hear about him talk about working with willow and how he is helping keep these traditional skills alive!

We had a relaxing last session of our Tuesday gardening group at Orchard Grove Care Home this week. The residents made picture books of all the activities they have done, their pressed flowers and cyanotype prints.
Thanks again to our talented, calm and collected facilitator Fi for running this group. Also to Allison & Geraldine, the Activities Coordinators at Orchard Grove Care Home and Toryglen Medical Practice for funding.
We still have some more Thursday afternoon sessions left and then will keep trying to find funding to run more sessions next year. Horticulture is a wonderful intervention for people with dementia - been lovely to witness.

Join us for a free community lunch on Saturday 3rd October from 12.30pm-2.30pm at Cornerstone. Urban Roots will be there to support running activities to see how best to redesign the Cornerstone garden! Everyone welcome.

We had a relaxing morning doing our cyanotype workshop - thanks so much to local artist Charlotte Craig for facilitating. We had a play with different paper/fabric - plain cyanotype as well as then tinting with coffee/turmeric or bleaching with soda crystals. Lots of interesting drawings and botanical designs. An easy but really beautiful technique to make photographic prints.

We're very grateful to GCC's Let's Grow Together fund for the money to help expand our gardens at Polmadie Plots. The volunteers helped design and map out the shape of this beautiful sensory garden and Jack our amazing joiner built these beds for us! Today the group were starting to think about what plants to include - we only had room for 4 beds so 'taste' can be found all round the garden!
