LEAP Community Hub

Katie, our Community Advisor in Gainsborough, received this lovely review on the LEAP Community Hub’s Google page.

We really appreciate it when tenants, or members of the public, reach out and review us. It really warms our hearts.

We had a "gourd" time at last week’s Coffee Club! 🎃

Our Coffee Club attendees were treated to a Halloween-themed session filled with pumpkin carving, games and plenty of spooky fun!

Everyone got stuck in, carving pumpkins to take home or to decorate the LEAP Community Hub, and it was lovely to see everyone helping each other along the way.

For some attendees, this was their first Halloween, so we also explored why pumpkins are such a big part of the celebrations. It was a great opportunity to learn more about British culture, discover new traditions and get into the Halloween spirit together! 🧡

A huge thank you to Savoy Cinema Gainsborough for kindly donating two cinema tickets for our Halloween-themed competition at the LEAP Community Hub! 🎃🍿

We’re incredibly grateful for the support of our local community. It means so much to us and our tenants when local businesses come together to support what we do.

We’ve had a great start to October at the LEAP Community Hub! 🍂✨ 🎃

Our Coffee Club attendees have been busy creating Halloween decorations. For some, this will be their very first Halloween, so we’ve also been exploring the traditions behind the celebration and why it’s celebrated.

Our workshops have focused on food hygiene and kitchen safety, with attendees putting their learning into practice by preparing and baking delicious biscuits.

We’re also running a fun competition for those attending our clubs and workshops! Attendees can enter for free by guessing the number of sweets in a jar, with cinema tickets for the winner and the jar of sweets for the runner-up.

Are you in Gainsborough’s South West Ward and want to upskill, meet new people and receive advice? Then, pop into our Community Hub during our operating hours and speak to Katie, our Community Advisor.

Throughout June, the Caldero Lounge team went above and beyond to fundraise for LEAP. From ice bucket challenges to an incredible 38-mile trek from Gainsborough to Louth, the team poured their time, energy and determination into raising as much as possible.

We’re now delighted to confirm that, together, the team raised an incredible £664.

You could say they really went the extra mile — quite literally!

So, what inspired all this incredible fundraising? Every year, Lounges across the country take part in LoungeAid—their annual charity initiative, where each Lounge chooses a local cause to champion. This year, Caldero Lounge chose LEAP, and they threw themselves into supporting us with enthusiasm, creativity and plenty of community spirit.

Thank you for choosing us, Caldero Lounge. Your fundraising total will go directly to supporting those facing homelessness in Gainsborough and across Lincolnshire.
