Last rehearsal we enjoyed learning Harvest Moon, a lovely seasonal song by the wonderful - just in time for September’s full harvest moon on 26th! This is just an excerpt with about 50 singers from Shepway Voices 🎶

From 19 to 95 – everyone belongs at Shepway Voices. 💙

We love being an inter-generational choir! Looking out for one another, sharing laughter and building friendships is every bit as important to us as singing great music.

Trevor and Marcy - our oldest and youngest members - show just how special it can be when people from different generations come together through song.

If you’ve been thinking about joining a choir, we’d love to welcome you! Whether you’re looking to sing, build your confidence, improve your wellbeing, meet new people or simply enjoy a great evening each week, there’s a place for you at Shepway Voices.

You don’t need to read music, have any previous choir experience or even consider yourself a “good singer”. If you enjoy singing, we’ll help you with the rest! You’ll be amazed by how great we all sound singing together! And you can be part of it!

Our repertoire includes everything from pop, folk and gospel to traditional choral music… and we’ll be starting on some festive favourites very soon!

We’re free to those who need us to be, and supported through donations. We recommend £5 a week for those who are able.

Trevor’s story:-

“When my wife of almost 60 years died in 2015 I was lost. My family live 200 miles away and although I had many friends and acquaintances I did not feel comfortable with most who were very kind but didn’t understand what I was going through.   “However, one persuaded me to go to Shepway Voices with him. Although I didn’t read music and hadn’t sung in a choir before I found, after a very short while, I was enjoying the friendship and family atmosphere so much that it’s become a priority in my life.  “Not only has it improved my physical health it has also strengthened my mental health by being with a family of friends who care about ME.”

Try something new this Autumn - join Shepway Voices!

We’re a community choir for all adults across Folkestone, Hythe and surrounding areas.

We meet every Wednesday at 7:30pm at FBC Centre, Hill Rd, Folkestone - come and join us!

We also have 3 other choirs meeting on Mondays at Wood Avenue Library, Folkestone:-
🎶 Headstrong Singers: For all - especially those affected by brain injury or illness, 1 - 2.30pm
🎶 Shepway Primary Singers: for primary aged children, 4:30 - 5:45pm
🎶 Shepway Youth Voices: for secondary aged kids, 6 - 7pm

👂Soundtrack is Shepway Voices singing “Because the Night” by Bruce Springsteen/Patti Smith at our summer concert. This version is originally from “CHOIR CHOIR CHOIR” and rearranged for 4 voice parts.

Come along to our car boot fayre on Sunday 16th August at Hythe Green.

🚘Cars for pitches arrive from 7am.
🙋General public from 8am.
⏰Event finishes 1pm.

🍦🍔 Food & ice cream on site!

No need to book - just turn up.

All proceeds from pitch prices go to supporting Music & Arts across Folkestone, Hythe and surrounding areas - including your local family of choirs for all: Shepway Voices, Shepway Youth Voices, Shepway Primary Singers and Headstrong.

We’re performing 3pm this Saturday 25th July at The Grand in Folkestone! Come hear us for free! 💙

We’re part of a great line-up of local acts celebrating ‘s 25 year anniversary. 🎈

The event runs 11am to 9:30pm, with food, live music and family-friendly activities. It’s free to attend up til 4pm. The grand finale is a ticketed evening concert after 6pm with some fab musicians too. 🎶

If you’ve thought about joining Shepway Voices - this is a chance to come and hear us in action! Otherwise we meet every Wednesday evenings, 7:30pm at FBC Centre, Hill Road, Folkestone.

We’re a welcoming, free community choir and we sing a range of uplifting, beautiful and fun pieces. We have a mix of ages, abilities, and genders. Every adult is welcome.

🎶 Sir Gareth’s message: Singing can be a lifeline for kids. 🎶

We already know this at Shepway Choirs, which is why we offer free choirs for kids and adults - from primary school age right through to adulthood. In fact there’s 90 years between our youngest and oldest singers! 🤗

With piles of research showing how singing together calms our nervous systems, boosts social bonding and trust, and increases self-confidence - being in a choir is one of the best things you, or a child you know, can do!

If you care for a child who might love to sing - we’re back in September with Shepway Primary Singers and Shepway Youth Voices!

Our adults choir, Shepway Voices, runs throughout the year on Wednesday evenings. Come and sing!

🎶 Want to sing great songs with others in your community? 💙

Come along to Shepway Voices on Wednesday nights - we’re a free community choir welcoming all adults across Folkestone, Hythe and surrounding areas. Some of our members travel from Dover, others from further afield!

🎤 We sing a mix of songs - pop, folk, gospel, traditional choral - there’ll be pieces you can’t stop humming!

🗓️ We run all the way through the year and we’re learning new pieces from Wednesday 24th June - with a handful of fun performances leading up to Christmas!

⭐️ Just turn up on the night or get in touch if you’d like to know more.

Shepway Voices is funded through grants, trusts and the fundraising efforts of our choir. We suggest a discreet £5 donation per rehearsal - only for those who are able.
