Our cadets take part in activities ranging from fieldcraft and shooting to musical performances and national parades.

📆 CORPS MEMORABLE DATE - BATTLE OF TRAFALGAR 📆

The 21st of October marks the anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.

Admiral Lord Nelson, instead of engaging the Franco-Spanish fleet side to side as was conventional at the time, drove his outnumbered fleet straight through the enemy line to deal massive damage.

Royal Marines served aboard Royal Navy ships during this historic victory, providing vital support in one of the most decisive naval battles in history - the French never challenged British sea power again!

A proud moment in the shared history of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

🇬🇧 Skills for life - A place to belong 🇬🇧

This National Cadets Week, we’re celebrating the difference cadets makes to young people—and the volunteers behind it.

In Sea Cadets 2024/25 survey of 2,337 cadets:

🤝 89% reported improved teamwork skills.
🌟 86% reported improved skills for later life.
💬 90% said Sea Cadets provides a supportive environment.

Behind those figures are young people finding their confidence, taking on responsibilities and discovering what they can achieve.

Across the UK’s cadet forces, more than 28,000 adult volunteers help make those opportunities possible. From planning weekends and preparing equipment to delivering training and offering encouragement, their contribution reaches far beyond parade nights.

Here in 1 Troop, we’re proud to be part of that effort.

‼️GREAT OAKS FROM TINY ACORNS GROW‼️

Last night, we welcomed the first new Royal Marines Cadets to TS Conqueror in nearly two years as the culmination of 12 months' hard graft to relaunch the detachment - and an outstanding way to mark National Cadets Week 2026!!

A massive Bravo Zulu is in order for Sgt (SCC) Howarth, and PSgts (SCC) Crocker and Sculthorpe for the work they've put in, and a massive thank you to CSgt (SCC) Ashton and Sgt (SCC) Braban, Troop Commander and Troop Sergeant, for their unwavering support.

📣NATIONAL CADET WEEK 2026📣

HRH the Princess Royal, or Princess Anne as she's otherwise known, serves as the Admiral of the Sea Cadets alongside a range of other roles across the charity sector.

In keeping with the King's letter issued yesterday, the Admiral has also given her support to National Cadet Week, for this year and many to come!

Alongside our parent unit Sea Cadets Fleetwood, we're hosting an open day on 31st August, 10am-4pm!

If you fancy an insight into the training, courses and activities available to the Royal Marines Cadets, or know someone who might, why don't you come down to see what we're all about?

🎉 The AGM is a key event in our calendar, bringing together our volunteers, supporters, families, and trustees to celebrate the achievements of our cadets over the past year, review our operational and financial performance, and outline our vision for the year ahead.

Our Unit is an independent charity that relies on the dedication of volunteers and trustees to keep our doors open and support our young people.

* Trustee Roles: Nominations are welcome for new members to join the Unit Management Committee (UMC). If you are interested in joining or learning more about how you can support the unit (in administrative, fundraising, or trustee roles), please contact Steve Simpson, Unit Chairperson ([email protected])

* Voting Eligibility: All parents/guardians, adult volunteers, and registered unit supporters aged 18 and over are eligible to vote on unit matters.
We are actively seeking new members to the Unit Management Committee who can make a meaningful difference and be an active member of the team participating in organising/running fundraising activities, etc. Key roles include Secretary, Treasurer
