🌟 THE TRUE SPIRIT OF FERMANAGH SHINES 🌟

We are writing to you all this evening with hearts full of absolute gratitude after an incredibly moving day on our shop floor at Cross Street.🧡

Our recent post sharing our retail challenges has now reached a staggering 89,000 views. While that digital wave of solidarity has blown us all away, what happened in our shop today truly brought tears to our eyes.🫂

Today alone, honest shoppers, clients, and loyal neighbours walked through our doors and dropped a phenomenal £230.00 in cash and change straight into our donation box. 🙏

Seeing our community instantly step up to support us proves that the heart of Fermanagh is completely unstoppable. 🧡 🌟

Every single coin dropped into that box stays right here in the county to fund completely free counselling, therapies, and peer support next door at the SWELL Cancer Support Centre.

We might face the odd bump in the road, but the real story will always be the immense goodness, honesty, and love that surrounds us every single day.🫂

Thank you to everyone who dropped change in the box, shared our message, or simply popped in to check on our team. You are the reason we can proudly say that together, we live life better. 🧡

🧡 A HUGE BIRTHDAY THANK YOU TO ROLEY MCINTYRE! 🧡

We were absolutely delighted to be presented with a wonderful donation of £560.00 by our very own incredible counsellor, Roley McIntyre!

Roley kindly chose to request donations to SWELL in lieu of birthday presents for his special day.

Roley has been an integral part of the SWELL family since the very first day we opened our doors, providing vital support and a listening ear to so many in our community.

To receive this selfless donation from him on top of everything he already does for our center is truly heartwarming.

Please be assured that every single pound raised stays right here in County Fermanagh. Your generosity ensures we can continue providing crucial services—like professional counselling, complementary therapies, and support groups—to local neighbours, friends, and families affected by a cancer diagnosis.

💔 SWELL CENTRE UPDATE:
This is why our SWELL Preloved Store needs your eyes and your support.
We are sharing this post from our shop team next door with a heavy heart. Every single pound raised through the SWELL Preloved Store goes directly toward keeping our Cancer Support Centre open and providing completely free emotional, physical, and peer support to local families here in Fermanagh.

When individuals target our shop with tag-swapping fraud—like the incidents detailed below—they aren’t just "getting a bargain." They are directly taking resources away from vulnerable local people navigating a cancer diagnosis.

Our incredible volunteers work so hard for this community, and it breaks our hearts to see their hard work taken advantage of.

To the overwhelming majority of our community who support us with absolute honesty, generosity, and love—thank you.🙏 You are the reason we can continue to say that together, we live life better. 🧡

💔 SAD & DISAPPOINTED: This is stealing from our cancer support centre.

Yesterday, we experienced two separate incidents of fraud in our shop. Individuals deliberately removed price tags from high-value items and replaced them with cheaper tags from our store.

This isn't a "cheeky bargain"—it is a fraudulent, reportable criminal offence.

What was taken from our charity yesterday:

• 🧥 A couple swapped the tag on a designer Hobbs green trench coat from £25 down to £9.

• 🧥 The same couple swapped the tag on a brand new, never-worn designer soft Italian ladies' leather jacket from £35 down to £7.

• 🌧️ They also swapped a new North Face men's raincoat tag from £22 down to £8.

• ☕ They even swapped a Royal Doulton Christmas Special Collection mug from £5 down to £1.

(These items alone would easily fetch a profit of at least £350 on eBay).

• 👜 Another lady removed the tag from a beautiful 1970s designer soft Italian leather handbag, swapping it from £10 down to £4.

To the people who did this:

Every single pound raised at the SWELL Preloved Store goes directly toward funding our vital SWELL Cancer Support Centre.

Our amazing volunteers (pictured here!) turn up every single day, working incredibly hard without pay, just to ensure we can keep providing completely free emotional, physical, and peer support to our local neighbours, friends, and families navigating a cancer diagnosis.

When you do this, you aren't "tricking the system." You are stealing directly from a local charity, from vulnerable people in our community, and from the incredibly generous locals who donate these items to help us raise funds.

Please note:
We have high-quality security cameras installed throughout the store and have very clear pictures of the culprits. We are currently gathering the CCTV footage and will be reporting these incidents to the police.

To the rest of our wonderful community, thank you for your ongoing, honest support. We love serving you, and we won’t let the actions of a few ruin the incredible work we do together. 🧡 🙏

We are absolutely blown away by the amazing fundraising achievement of Mark Ovens - Erne West!

Mark recently took on a massive 50-mile charity cycle challenge across Erne West to raise vital funds for local causes.

We are incredibly grateful to be one of his chosen charities. Mark called into our shop to present a fantastic donation of £1,271.66! 🙏

This October, Nikki McCaughey is taking on a massive physical challenge for a very special cause. Following her nanny’s recent cancer diagnosis, Nikki is stepping up to hike 100 miles of mountain trails across Northern Ireland, culminating with a climb up Ireland's highest peak, Carrauntoohil!

She is raising vital funds for SWELL Fermanagh Cancer Support Centre, an incredible volunteer-led charity providing free emotional, physical, and social support to local families navigating cancer treatment.

✨ AN EXCITING SERVICE LAUNCH AT SWELL! ✨

Many of you already know and love Genevieve (Genny) Brown (Yoga Ocean) from her wonderful work facilitating our weekly yoga sessions. Today, we are absolutely delighted to announce that Genny is expanding her vital support for the SWELL community by introducing a brand-new, unique complementary service: Clinical Hypnotherapy! 🧡

Genny is incredibly humble about her achievements, but we want to sing her praises because her qualifications are truly exceptional! 🌟

Genny holds a Master’s degree (MSc) in Psychology with Distinction from the University of Glasgow, where she specialized in Clinical Health Psychology and trauma healing. She is a fully NCH Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist, holding advanced clinical practitioner qualifications in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH), NLP, and Solution-Focused Hypno-Psychotherapy.
On top of this, she is a Senior Yoga Teacher and an accredited Mindfulness Now Teacher Trainer.

Genny knows firsthand the profound challenges that a cancer journey brings. In 2014, she used yoga and mindfulness to closely support her own family during her husband's illness and subsequent passing from cancer. This lived experience entirely shapes her compassionate, gentle clinical approach.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce Kiera Farry is officially joining the SWELL Cancer Support team!

Kiera is a fully qualified, registered practitioner with the National Register of Reflexologists (Ireland) (Reg. No. 2462:25). She brings an incredible wealth of expertise to SWELL, having completed intensive, accredited training through the prestigious Judy Buckley School of Reflexology.

Kiera specializes in working with children and young people aged 5 to 16 years, including those who are neurodivergent.

At SWELL, we know that a cancer diagnosis ripples throughout an entire family and community. Kiera’s specialized pediatric sessions are completely open to any young person whose life has been touched by cancer, including:
▪️Young cancer patients navigating active treatment or recovery.
▪️Children whose parents, grandparents, or relatives have received a cancer diagnosis.
▪️Siblings who are carrying the quiet emotional weight of a brother or sister's illness.

Emma and her family laced up their hiking boots and tackled the famous Cuilcagh Mountain boardwalk trail—fondly known as the "Stairway to Heaven"—to raise vital funds for our centre. This massive challenge was deeply personal, inspired by her brother-in-law Niall Martin, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment. Every single grueling step up that mountain was taken for him.
