East Sussex Hearing

East Sussex Hearing A registered charity aiming to improve the quality of life for the Deaf and hard of hearing community

East Sussex Hearing has been supporting the deaf, d/blind and hard-of-hearing communities across the County for over 20 years. We aim to challenge the isolation and exclusion that hearing loss imposes on people and thus help them lead fully independent lives through the delivery of our social support groups, BSL & Lipreading programmes, Hearing Aid Maintenance sessions, providing advice & guidance and delivering awareness training.

πŸ“£ We Need Your Help to Improve Train Travel for People with Hearing Loss
East Sussex Hearing has been asked to gather real-life experiences from people with hearing loss about how train travel affects them β€” and we’d love your support.
Your feedback can help influence real change. In fact, thanks to community input, Govia Thameslink has already installed an Auracast system for clearer announcements at Brighton Station, alongside their BSL announcement screens. πŸ™Œ
Now we want to go even further.
If you have hearing loss, or you know someone who does, please share this short survey.
βœ” No personal information is collected
βœ” Every response helps strengthen the case for better accessibility across the rail network
πŸ”— Take the survey here: https://wkf.ms/4uFVI3t
Thank you for helping us make travel more inclusive for everyone. πŸ’™

Multiple rail companies are working to improve the travel experience for Deaf and hard of hearing passengers. To make meaningful changes, we need to understand the real challenges you face when travellingβ€”particularly around communication, accessibility, and receiving important journey informat...

Our charity's Co-CEO Mark Dimmock was delighted to visit the brilliant team at Seahaven FM 96.3 and 95.6 to talk about the support we give to people with any form of hearing loss.
It was a great opportunity to listen to hearing aid user Jim about how simple interventions can change lives for the better.
Mark and Jim, who discovered they both have a mutual love of 1930's and punk rock music, were hosted by the brilliant presenter Sally Markwell.
