Devonshire West is part of the vibrant town centre area in Eastbourne and is more locally known as Seaside due to it's close proximity to the sea. The area has a population of around 9,000 and is the most diversely populated area in Eastbourne along with a large student population. The seaside area has an array of local shops, cafes, b&b, hotels and there's always lots to do at the local community

centre the Seaside Community Hub. If you're new to the area or have lived here for many years it's never too late to come and say hello as we would love to get to know you so we can help each other to create the local area that benefits all of our residents.

Wave Community Bank have 2 Financial Wellbeing Webinars coming up - one for employers on Friday 13th September at 12noon and another one open for everyone on 18th September at 1.30pm where we will go through some tools available with MaPS and the Illegal Money Lending Team.

Our Story

Devonshire West is part of the vibrant town centre area in Eastbourne, it is closely situated to the main shopping area and railway station. The area has a population of around 9,000. There is a large student population, many of whom study at the University of Brighton’s Eastbourne campus. The area benefits from a seafront area which contains many nightclubs and hotels. It is well connected with good transport links. Big Local is a lottery-funded programme by Local Trust. There is a £1 million grant to be used over 10 years for strengthening and improving the community of Devonshire West. The planning is entirely community-led: the ideas all come from residents and the team putting together the plan and working out the budget are local people and local organisations. All thoughts are welcome.
