🌟 Heroes + at Kilronan School, Magherafelt! 🌟

We are delighted to be back at Kilronan School in Magherafelt, working alongside 13 incredible young adults as part of our new Heroes + Group! 💙

The group has already been busy building friendships, growing in confidence and creating new memories through a range of exciting activities, including team-building sessions, a cinema trip and a visit to the Council as part of Good Relations Week. 🙌🎬🏛️

Good Relations Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate diversity, promote inclusion and recognise the importance of building positive relationships within our communities. It’s about learning from one another, understanding different perspectives, challenging barriers and discovering the things we have in common. 🤝💜

Getting out and about in the local community is such an important part of this journey. Whether visiting new places, meeting new people or taking part in shared experiences, these opportunities help develop independence, strengthen social skills, build confidence and create a real sense of belonging.

We are so proud to see our Heroes + Group embracing every opportunity, supporting one another and making the most of their experiences. We look forward to all the adventures, learning and friendships still to come! 💫

A big thank you to Kilronan School for welcoming us back, and to everyone who has helped make these experiences possible. ❤️

Today, we had the pleasure of visiting both primary schools in Donaghmore village to hand over funds raised during our quiz night back in July. 💙

Jamie, representing our Heroes + Group, was delighted to present the funds to students from both Schools.

A huge thank you to Dera and Mark for showing us around, making us feel so welcome, and giving us an insight into the fantastic work happening within the schools.

The quiz night was part of the Heroes + Social Action Project, which focuses on giving back to and making a positive difference within our local communities.

We’re delighted that the money raised will go towards much-needed toys and equipment for the Special Educational Needs departments in both schools — helping to support the brilliant work they do every day. 🙌

A massive thank you to everyone who supported our quiz night and helped make this possible. Your generosity is making a real difference in our community! ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along and supported our Quiz Night at the Lower House Bar, Donaghmore! 🎉

The quiz was organised by our Heroes + Participants as part of their Social Action Project, with the goal of giving back to their local community.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised an amazing £661! 👏 This will be split equally between the two primary schools in Donaghmore Village, helping to support the fantastic work they do for local children.

A special thank you to everyone who donated prizes, took part in the quiz, and helped make the evening such a success. Your support means so much and has made a real difference.

Together, we've shown what a community can achieve when people come together for a great cause.

We're sharing these important leaflets to help raise awareness about coercive control and the support available.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥?
It's a persistent pattern of behaviours designed to intimidate, threaten, humiliate and restrict a person's freedom. Whilst it can include physical violence, it's most commonly psychological and emotional manipulation.

𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 '𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝, 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐊𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐞𝐬':

𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃: Doubting your thoughts or feelings? Have they made you feel ashamed?
𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒: Constantly looking over your shoulder? Always being watched?
𝐊𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐒: Apologising without knowing why? Always getting the blame?
𝐓𝐎𝐄𝐒: Do you feel stuck? Do you feel safe at home?

If something doesn't feel right, talk to someone you trust.
