What a fantastic discussion we had last night with Chris Romer Lee (Sea Pool expert) about A Sea Pool for the Solway. Chris laid out the concept of a small organic community Sea Pool used like a "watery piazza." A lovely idea. Massive thanks to everyone for turning out on a wet cold night and for all your great questions and ideas. To Jacqueline Crowther the initiator and inspirer of this community wellbeing project. REFUGEE WEEK 2026 - ‘Stories of the Solway’ Great Afternoon at The Stardard Building watching short nature films created by a group of wonderful young people. The films capture a wonderful sense of joy and hope which comes from experiencing our seascape in the moment.

Congratulations wonderful name …

We have changed our name to Galloway Rivers Trust! Our work has been expanding into wider catchment management following the belief that naturally functioning watercourses, with good water quality, allow fish and other wildlife to thrive and provides better resilience to climate change impacts. Improving native fish stocks will continue to be a core part of our work, particularly Atlantic salmon.

Our website www.gallowayriverstrust.org clearly articulates our work priorities and ambitions, and these are not changing.
