At Jasmine Road Community Gardens we think Black Country Food Bank are Absolutely Amazing!!!🙏 They help so many people who really need it so along with our Collection Box we have at the Gardens where you can pop in a Donation anytime you come to see us.

This Year we are also taking part in their Reverse Advent Calendar 📅 If you would like to make a Donation to them this Christmas 🌲 we will happily drop it off for you when we take ours 😊

❓What is a Reverse Advent Calendar❓

A Reverse Advent Calendar is a wonderful alternative to the traditional Advent calendar. Instead of receiving a small gift or treat each day leading up to Christmas, participants in a Reverse Advent Calendar gather items to donate to those in need.

Everyone can take part in a workplace, school, community group, faith group or as a family on the run up to Christmas.

Setting up a Reverse Advent Calendar is easy - simply:

⭐️Choose a Container: Select a box, basket, or another container to hold your collected items.

⭐️Create a Calendar: Determine the number of days you want your Reverse Advent Calendar to run. Traditionally, Advent calendars have 24 days, but you can adapt it as you wish. If you're starting late, don't worry; the main idea is to contribute what you can. If you don’t complete it then don’t worry, every donation counts!

⭐️Collect Items: Each day, add a non-perishable food item and/or toiletry items to your container.

⭐️Spread the Word: Share your Reverse Advent Calendar journey on social media or within your community. Encourage others to join you in the effort, either by creating their own calendars or contributing to yours.

⭐️Deliver the Donations: Once your Reverse Advent Calendar is complete, take your donations to your nearest collection point.

Alternatively, you can use our reverse Advent Calendar where we’ve suggested items from our shopping list that will go into our food parcels this winter to help those in need.

Our Second Christmas Event 🎅🌲is a collaboration with Friends of Buffery Community Park and our 1st Event as part of their New Committee on Saturday 13th December 2025 for a Winter Wonderland Experience ❄️ at Buffery Park

Visit Santa in his Magical Grotto 🎅🎄 and receive a Gift 🎁
Christmas Crafting with Mrs Claus 🤶in the Workshop ✂️
Mince Pies 🥧 for the Adults and Cookies for the Children 🍪

While we are having all our Exciting Building Work done at Jasmine Road Community Gardens it means unfortunately that we can't do our usual Christmas Event with Santa in the Woodland 🎅🌲 but fear not we are still bringing you Christmas Spirit in the form of not 1...but 2.....Fabulous Christmas Events!!!!

The 1st one is a collaboration with Roseland Playing Field & Community Centre for Breakfast with Santa 🎅 🥓☕️

Sunday 14th December 2025

9.30am till 11.30am

£5.00 per Child Includes Breakfast and a Visit to Santa 🎅 in his Grotto where they will receive a Gift from him
£3.00 per Adult for Breakfast

Breakfast Choices are Bacon or Sausage Sandwich, Toast, Cereal, Tea, Coffee and Juice

While you have Breakfast Write your own Letter to Santa to post in our Special Santa Delivery Post Box along with some Christmas Crafting with the Elves. You will then go on to visit the Big Man himself in his Magical Grotto 🎄where each Child will receive a Gift from Santa 🎅 and have the opportunity to have a Photo.

Followed by Mince Pies 🥧 for the Adults and a Cookie 🍪 for the Children

We had another Fantastic Monthly Cooking Session last Month at Roseland Playing Field & Community Centre 👩‍🍳

We made Homemade Cheese 🧀 and Potato 🥔 Pie from Scratch. Peeling, Chopping and Boiling the Potatoes. Then we added any extras that we wanted such as Broccoli 🥦, Sweetcorn and Spring Onions 🧅 before adding Milk, Butter and Cheese to mash it all together and then Baking in the Oven to make the Cheese Crispy. We then sat down together to eat them and they were very Yummy 😋

We had a really lovely time with you all you were Brilliant!!!

Hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did and look forward to seeing you after Christmas 🎄

We are very pleased to say that this Beautiful Boy 🐾 who's Name is Hugo who had managed to escape the Fence at his House because he was scared of the Fireworks 🎆 has been reunited with his Mommy who was very worried about him 😞 but Thankfully he is now back with her Safe and Sound and enjoying lots of Kisses and Cuddles ❤️

Was lovely to spend a couple of hours with you Gorgeous Doggy 😊 So Glad we managed to get you back home safe 🙏

❤️ Help for Jamaica 🇯🇲 — Hurricane Relief

So as you know, Jamaica is in crisis right now after the recent Hurricane.
We have a couple of our Plot Holders whose Family and Friends have been affected by this and we would like to try and do our bit to help them 🙏
Many homes are Flooded and Families have nowhere to stay, so we’re just trying to help them start again.

We’re looking for Donations of the following items:
🍚 Rice & Dried Foods (Noodles, Pasta, etc.)
🥫 Tinned Food
🧴 Toiletries (Soap, Toothpaste, Shampoo, Feminine Products, etc.)
🧼 Washing-up liquid & Disinfectant
🛏️ Bed Sheets / Light Bedding
Anything that can safely make the journey through customs will make a huge difference 🙏🏽
If anyone has Donations please drop them into the Gardens and we will be Happy to pass them on— Every little bit counts ❤️
