If you’re considering pre-school education for your child in September 2027, the Education Authority (EA) wants you to be aware of a number of changes to the process for applying 📢

The aim of the Pre-School Education Programme is to provide one year of high quality, funded pre-school education, for every child whose parents want it.

It isn’t compulsory and parents can apply if they want to, by listing in their order of preference, the pre-school settings to which they would be happy to send their child to.

We have published some information for parents and carers, including key dates, on our website at 👉 https://ow.ly/2z9c50ZX5t5

Further information on the procedure for pre-school admissions will be shared with parents, schools and settings in coming weeks.

📢 Key dates will also be communicated for applying for Primary One, Year 8 post primary and Senior High School places.

Updates will be published on https://ow.ly/Kn4K50ZX5t4 and on the EA’s social media channels.

A wonderful evening with our Omagh and Fermanagh Branch!

We were delighted to welcome members to Dromore Community Playgroup on 8 September, where Theresa and her team provided a warm welcome and excellent hospitality.

It was a pleasure to be joined by Pauline Walmsley OBE, CEO of Early Years, for valuable discussions on PAN allocations in the voluntary and community sector, the impact of standardisation, and the recent statement from Education Minister Paul Givan. Members also worked collaboratively to develop resolutions for presentation at our AGM in October.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a productive, insightful and engaging evening. Your commitment to supporting children, families and the early years sector is greatly appreciated.

Is your child starting pre-school or primary school this September? 🎒

Summer is the perfect time to help them feel excited and confident about their new adventure!

📖 Read together, talk about pictures, make up stories and chat about feelings – it all helps build confidence, communication, and learning skills.

🌙 A bedtime story is also a great way to create a calming routine before sleep.
