Today we opened the Centre up to Port of Dover and Future Foundry for part of the Dover Youth Festival.

The session was an Eco Fieldwork workshop which highlighted the amazing fauna, flora, mini-beasts and birds along our sea front.

Finishing in the centre with hands on workstations such as knot tying, crane handling (with mini cranes!), microscopes and drones!

What an amazing day!

We’re delighted to be bringing back our SEND & Disability-Friendly Santa’s Grotto for another magical Christmas, creating a welcoming, fully accessible and sensory-friendly experience where everyone can enjoy the festive fun in their own way. ❤️

Our grotto is run by Wetwheels South East CIC with the help of our wonderful volunteers. We aim to cover our running costs, with any surplus supporting future Wetwheels experiences.

🌱 Get stuck into the waterfront’s wildlife!

The Port of Dover Environment Team are hosting the Eco-Fieldwork: Coastal Wildlife & Marine Lab workshop for Dover Youth Festival with Future Foundry.

At this free event for 10 - 19-year-olds, you can explore Dover seafront from a different perspective, discovering the wildlife, birds and plants that live there. Then head to Dover Sea Sports Centre for hands-on marine activities - including water testing, microscopes, knot tying and more.

Fantastic News for Cinque Ports Sailing !

⚓ 🛳️ Holland America Line donates £5,000 to Dover sailing club to support next generation of sailors!

Holland America Line has donated £5,000 to Cinque Ports Sailing Club in Dover to help fund four new Fusion Dinghies, helping to create more opportunities for young people to develop their skills and confidence on the water.

The donation was presented during a special ceremony on board Nieuw Statendam while the ship was in port on Friday, 16 October. Representatives from Holland America Line, Cinque Ports Sailing Club, the Port of Dover and local school students, attended the event.

Swap screens for sails this October half term ⛵

Looking for something different for the kids? Give them the chance to feel the wind, learn new skills and experience the excitement of being out on the water.

Cinque Ports Sailing is running Learn to Sail sessions in Dover during October half term, welcoming young sailors of all abilities, whether they’re stepping into a boat for the first time or keen to build their confidence.

A few hours on the water could be the start of a lifelong love of sailing.
