✈️ 36 years of service, countless cadet memories!
Congratulations and a huge thank you to CI David Witham, who celebrates an incredible 36 years of service to 1053 (Armthorpe) Squadron! 👏
Back in 1990, music came on cassette, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were all the rage, and “going online” probably meant joining the queue for the next squadron activity! David was beginning a commitment that would span generations.
Since then, he has seen generations of cadets walk through our doors, grow in confidence and head out into the world, each taking their own memories of the Air Cadet experience with them. David has helped shape those experiences and has been part of the squadron’s story for more than three decades.
From the days of paper 3822s to today’s Cadet Portal, plenty has changed, but the value of dedicated volunteers like David remains as strong as ever.
David, thank you for your time, commitment and everything you have contributed to our cadets and squadron. That’s a service record worthy of a proper 90s salute, absolutely top gun! ✈️💙
