Morning,
Have you remembered to put your clocks back?
Animals don't understand these strange habits that we have regarding time do they? My dog turned 10 yesterday, this morning she was up at 6am expectating her breakfast. Except she was frantic as in her mind it was 7am and she should have had her breakfast over an hour ago!
I hope that the rain and wind yesterday and over night hasn't caused any damage and that everyone is safe.

All about recycling and reusing today. We started with Decorative Crystal Art Tiles. This is a great way to use those left crystals from all the proje rs you've been working on. Then this afternoon we created Felt Poppy Brooches.
Please can I take this opportunity to remind people please don't come to our workshops if you have a cold, flu, Covid, upset stomach or any other illness which you might pass to your friends in the workshop or our team.
We have vulnerable people who come to our workshops and we need to keep them safe. What might be a simple cold to you, can be devastating for someone with a compromised immune system. I know this might seem like we're being over the top, we just want to keep everyone safe. If you're not sure whether you should come or not, then just give us a ring and ask.

On Wednesday evening Life After Loss Grief Cafe . will be inviting anyone in the community that knew Dawn to join them at 5:30 at Castle Close Community Centre in Tickhill for a cuppa and to share their memories of Dawn with them.

We're not counsellors at Dadesley Crafting CIC, but we will listen and we can, if needed help you find the right support.

We're open today (18th) in our Craftroom and shop. 11am - 3pm
We are fully booked already for Craft and Chat, but please do call into the shop, say hi to the team and pick up some of the great bargains we have on material, paper, wool and so much more.
This week is the start of our change to the timetable. Crochet is moving from a Tuesday to a Saturday. We have spaces available on both a Saturday morning and afternoon.

My dog turns 10 at the end of this month, and she will have been in our lives two years in December. She is very stuck in her ways and expects her meals by a certain time and has now taken to gruffing (not barking) if I'm not up to give her breakfast by 7am. Yes I know there will be those of you out there that say, ignore her, you shouldn't give in to her, but when you adopt a senior rescue dog, they do come with a few quirks. Most rescue's do and if she'd been younger then yes we would have trained her to wait patiently for her breakfast, but at her age, I don't really see why she should. After breakfast, she goes outside for a quick wee and then runs straight back in, jumps up on the sofa and is now happily snoring away at the side of me.
What's all this got to do with crafting I hear you cry?
Well it's habits! I've just received a message to let me know that one of our volunteers has tested positive for Covid. Yes our volunteers /team still do test themselves for Covid. This is because we have vulnerable people coming into our craft room and shop, we also have vulnerable people in our family lives at home. I shouldn't have to say this, but, if you have 'a cold', please do test yourself, and please DON'T come to our workshops or shop. Whilst we love seeing you, we really don't want to share your germs with you. We understand if this means you have to cancel short notice, but we would much rather you cancel than you come in and pass anything onto our members or the team.
Thank you for being so understanding and helping us to create a safe space for everyone to enjoy.
On that note, we received a wonderful email on Friday informing us that we'd been shortlised by St Ledger Homes Doncaster, as a Finalist in their Community Wellbeing award, after we'd been nomiated by one of our members. Thank you so much for the nomination.
This Saturday, 17th October is Kate's last working Saturday for Dadesley Crafting. She will continue to work on Fridays until the end of November. We are going to miss Kate enormously, but I'm going to do a seperate post about this closer to the time.
Annette will start to run Crochet workshops from the 24th October. These are bookable now on our website.
