4 weeks to go until our annual Christmas Bingo.

It's a great way to round off the day after you have been to the Doddington Xmas Lights event and watched the lights being switched on.

All funds raised will go towards the group's next international camp in 2028.

It's Christmas Bingo time!

After you have enjoyed an afternoon at the Doddington Christmas Lights switch on event and watched the lights being switched on, make your way down to Scout Hall and round off the day with a great game of bingo.

As well as bingo and great prizes, there will be a raffle to have a go at plus food and cakes to buy.

Our International Camp is drawing to a close.

Tomorrow our main party start their journey home whilst our self led groups get to stay another day before they head home on Monday.

Yesterday everyone had a fun filled day at Efteling Theme Park, it may have rained a little but it didn't dampen anyone's spirirts.

Today has been an on-site day for the main party, our Network group went to Utrecht, whilst our Explorers had a bit of a mystery day as we needed to rearrange some of their activities earlier on in the week due to potential weather conditions today.

Wishing them all a safe and trouble free journey home.

Battlefields Day

Yesterday the whole contingent came together for Battlefields Day.

The group started in Oosterbeek, where they visited the Airborne Museum and completed both the northern and southern loops of the perimeter. Walking the perimeter gave an opportunity to compare photos between how it is now and how it was in the war and get a sense of what it might have been like.

They then moved on to Arnhem when they had a chance to visit John Frost Bridge to see the memorial.

After a dinner of pizza they moved on to the Airborne Cemetery where they took part in a remembrance service.

Return to camp was a little delayed as our driver had to organise a flat tyre to be replaced.

After a moving but longer than expected day yesterday, today's slower day was welcomed, it's almost as if we planned it 😄 The main group spent the day at the local swimming pool while the 'sledders' as they have been named were out and about again.

After a longer than anticipated journey our main party arrived at Scoutcentrum Buitenzorg, some of their tents had been put up by the leaders, Explorers and Networkers and the catering team had food ready for them.

Sunday was a day on site, to give them a chance to get familiar with their surroundings and have a go at some activities. They have done leather work, made survival bracelets, visited the National Museum and had a go at archery.

There was also an unexpected opportunity for a few leaders to take part in a special sundown service commemorating the crossing at Nijmegan in 1944 during Market Garden.

Today they have all been to Rotterdam, with the majority visiting the Maritime Museum, having a trip in a waterboat and exploring the city, with others visiting the zoo and playing mini-golf.

Tomorrow they are off to Oosterbeek and Arnhem

Holland 2026 has begun!

Our advance team set off Thursday evening. Unfortunately they arrived to slightly different weather conditions.

Our self led group set off yesterday from Luton, despite several delays with the plane, they all arrived safely at the campsite after having done a bit of food shopping, ready to set up camp and cook their evening meal.

Our main party met in Doddington at 4.30am this morning, to start their journey, as you can imagine there was a mix of tired and excited faces.

They drove down to Dover before getting the ferry across to Calais. They are currently playing spot the windmill on the final leg of the journey to Scoutcentrum Buitenzorg where dinner awaits.
