Market Lavington & Easterton Women’s Institute The WI is the largest voluntary women’s organisation in the UK.

It plays a unique role in enabling women to develop new skills and gives them opportunities to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.

Our speaker tonight was Anji Schofield, a senior nurse in the RAF. She spoke about her life in uniform. It was interesting to hear about her time being in charge of a hospital in Bahrain in the first Gulf War, meeting the Queen & other members of the Royal family, playing an important part at the Remembrance Service in the Albert Hall amongst others stories whilst showing us all the different types of uniform she had to wear.
An enjoyable evening for all.

We welcomed two local Lavington School girls, Evie & Paige to our February meeting to tell us about their upcoming expedition to Peru.
They did a great presentation and will return in the Autumn to tell us how it went.
They have both been fundraising to raise the £5000 they need for the trip.
