At the Queen's Hall, Cuckfield from Tuesday 27th to Friday 30th October 2026. Cuckfield Dramatic Society (CDS) is an established & thriving amateur theatre group bringing Quality Drama to our village and in nearby Mid-Sussex. Most of our shows are held in the Queen’s Hall in Cuckfield High Street, with traditional stage and raked seating although we do branch out to other formats and locations on
occasion! We hold two major play performances a year during the May and October half-term holidays
We also hold an evening of entertainment early in the year (The February Frolics) which is both a fund-raiser and an opportunity for members to try their hand at directing or performing in a one-act play or in any of the sketches that follow. (Some clips from the very successful previous years can be seen on the Past Productions page.) And our first musical events added some "Variety" with a now annual Christmas Cabaret of song, dance and more. We form part of the wider social scene in the village, working with other groups such as the Independent State. Our shows attract a good audience and usually high praise! But we always love to see new audience members and new faces to join in the fun on and off stage. (And you don't even have to live in Cuckfield!)
CDS started in its current form over 20 years ago. With an active policy of supporting new members there are always opportunities to become actively involved in our performances and the society in general. If you have an interest in entertainment and would like to become involved on or off stage we will welcome you with open arms. If you have no experience we would be delighted to pass on our knowledge and expertise in performing and/or organising local entertaniment! We do not have a junior section of the society so membership is only open to those of 18 and upwards. (But family memberships, supporters and audience of any age are always welcome!)
