Crieff Community Council and Crieff Community Trust are working hard to come up with a plan to save the public toilets in James Square. It would be devastating for the town if we were to lose this vital facility. Please help by filling in the very short survey you’ll see in various locations around town or complete it online by following the link below. It will only take a minute of your time but will be of enormous help. Thanks!!!!

Perth & Kinross Council have taken the decision to close the Crieff Public Toilets. Crieff Community Council and Crieff Community Trust are working together on behalf of the local community to investigate what options are now available and to determine public opinion around the possibility of keepin...

πŸ₯KWIC QUACKERS duck chase of 2024! πŸ₯
We have some exciting news about yesterday's escaped ducks from our annual duck race in MacRosty Park.

These clever quackers seem to have captured the hearts and imaginations of the local community, inspiring a new trend of 'duck spotting' πŸ‘€ along the riverbanks. Strangely, people have reported sightings of the escaped ducks all over town, from MacRosty Park, Dallerie, and Lady Mary's, enjoying a pint at The Towers, tucking into Walnut & Rocket Pizza at Delivino. There have even been a few back garden pond sightings. Some even claim they've spotted rare breeds and exotic colours among the flock! (see pic - KWIC pink ducks were not released this year. However, we seem to have gained a Pinkie from someone else's race!!)

Cold-water 🏊 swimmers at Broughty Ferry have reported the last roaming duck. They claim duck number πŸ₯ 310 told them of hopes of fighting the North Sea currents and making it down the coast to the famous St Andrews chipper. The chase continues! Let us know if you are in that area today. Please take gloves and a net 🧀 with you; 310 seems fairly spirited!!

Local electrician Iain Brock is now leading a guided river tour and sharing his tips and tricks for spotting these elusive creatures. (See pic of Iain donning waders 🎣 and armed with a shopping basket ready for a whopping 17 duck capture.)

(Please be assured that all our KWIC ducks have been returned by the community or rescued by our trusty team, and all plastic, fencing, and nets are secured and stored for next year. We've had a post-event meeting, and high water notes are now in the β€˜KWIC DUCK RACE PROTOCOL' for the future.
Many thanks to all volunteers; you lot NEVER LET US DOWN! 😍😍😍)

What we are

Mission

Community Councils were established as statutory bodies under the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973. Their general purpose is to act as a voice for the local community, responding to local concerns and representing local opinions to the Local Authority and other relevant bodies. They have a statutory right to be consulted on planning applications, and are also involved in licensing matters.

Crieff Community Council plays an important part in shaping and reflecting our community. We work in partnership with other organisations on matters of common concern and to improve the town in a number of crucial ways. We are members of the Strathearn and District Forum of Community Councils, which allows nine local Community Councils, from Blackford to St. Fillans, to co-operate on strategic issues affecting the whole area and speak with one voice to Perth and Kinross Council.
