Bill's been a busy Boy, he made these lovely Mahjong racks. They replaced the rather cheap plastic ones that came with the sets, much more ergonomic and dare we say classy in keeping with with the Ladies of the Ilminster Mahjong players.
As well as two full sets of racks Bill made a single rack to replace a missing rack for the Dowlish Wake Mahjong players πŸ˜ƒ..
Clearly Mahjong's a popular game in South Somerset.
Great job Bill .

A big thank you to Crewkerne Rotary District.
We recently had the pleasure of talking to the Rotary Club about the Shed. Rotary have been great supporters for some time and it was a real pleasure to meet the Rotary members, tell them about the Shed and how their generous donations are used.
Of course it would be remiss of us not to mention the other kind donors, Crewkerne Town Council have again this year given us a grant. Modus and Yandles have given us timber off cuts which are always useful and of course all the generous folks who have given us old furniture to reuse or buying the things we have made.
Whilst times are difficult without your generosity we'd really struggle.
Thank you everyone.

The Residents of Chubbs Lane in Crewkerne have a much more colourful view now.
Shedder Joanathan made these great planters for all the residents to enjoy.
Now planted up they'll certainly brighten up the area.🌹πŸͺ»πŸ₯€πŸŒΊπŸŒΌπŸŒΉπŸͺ»πŸŒΊ.
Great job Jonathan πŸ˜€.

Looks like it's the Shed ladies bowling club ......... none of that short mat or nine pin nonsense, its Anneliese, Erika and Helen getting busy on the lathe turning these fantastic bowls πŸ˜€.
Erika's bowl was turned from laminated oak staves, in fact this was an actual off cut from a kitchen worktop. Erika certainly turned it into something rather special (pun intended).
Anneliese took a different approach using a beautiful piece of Burbinga - she turned this truly lovely bowl.
Whilst Helen found this piece of unknown species of wood and made this lovely little peanut bowl.
They're all a bit different but equally good.
Whilst Erica and Helen are no strangers to the lathe it was the first bowl Annealiese had ever turned.
Great job Ladies you're certainly giving the chaps a run for their money on the lathe πŸ˜„.

Shedder Charmaine's been busy, she made this wonderful serving board from some beautifully figured oak which had unfortunately cracked and had a large knot hole. Rather than resign it to the scrap bin Charmaine used her imagination and turned what could have been a waste into this stunning serving board by filling the holes and cracks with green resin. πŸ˜ƒ

It's been a busy time at the Shed.
We've been adventurous mixing wood and resin to make some unique pieces.
A fantastic table crated from an reclaimed oak panel refinished with three vibrant resin inlays and with pin legs giving it a "turn of the century" vibe.
On a smaller scale we've got a selection of coasters, yew, and resin give a ocean vibe, real coffee beans encapsulated in a clear resin, certainly one for the coffee lovers and a selection of coasters made from various exotic and indigenous woods.
All of these are available to buy direct from the Shed.
Open Tuesday and Thursday 10 - 1pm and Saturday 10 - 12.0.
Table is Β£80.00.
Coasters L - R Β£10 -- Β£15 -- Β£12 .

There's sometimes a fine line between art and craft, well Helen's just blurred that line πŸ˜€ with her Bird feeder table .
Crafted from solid oak with a slate roof this combine creativity and craft in the best way possible.
Using the trusty band saw and finishing off with good old hand chisels for the detailed work.
Helen's really mastered the use of most of the woodworking tools here.
Looks like someone couldn't wait for Helen to set it up in her garden and has already called it Home........ πŸ¦β€β¬›

It's an unfortunate fact that sometimes people don't always respect property and even vandalise much loved things.
Recently a life size Guide Dogs for the Blind collecting box was vandalised, the collection money was stolen and it was then set on fire.
Chris, a Shed member and Guide Dog volunteer rescued it, cleaned it up and brought it into The Shed where she repainted the damage.
The base was beyond repair so a new base was constucted from heavy grade laminated ply.
A big thank you for the ply donated by local manufacturer Modus Furniture.
With Team work the Dog looks brilliant and will soon be back and placed in a new home .
