EOLP The End of Life Partnership (EOLP) works across the UK to improve end of life care through education, collaboration and innovation.

We support professionals, organisations and communities to provide compassionate, personalised care when it matters most. We are an award winning charity based in Cheshire. Our Public Health team work at the heart of local communities. We provide resources and courses to help with end of life planning and coping with bereavement. We also support carers, volunteers and whole communities to care together, with confidence. Whether you need help to plan for the future, cope with bereavement or connect with people who understand what you are going through, you will find what you need here. We currently cover the East Cheshire area in our work.

Hospice Care Week 2026 🧡

This Hospice Care Week, we're celebrating the incredible work of hospices and the people who make that care possible.

Hospices provide so much more than specialist clinical care. They support people and families through some of the most important and difficult moments in their lives – with compassion, expertise and kindness.

This year's theme, “Don't leave hospice care to chance”, reminds us of the importance of ensuring people can access the right care and support when they need it.

At The End of Life Partnership, we're proud to work alongside hospice teams to strengthen knowledge, confidence and practice in end of life care.

We're particularly grateful for our collaboration with all our hospice partners and the expertise, commitment, and insight they bring to our shared work.

Thank you to everyone working in hospice care and to the volunteers, families, supporters and wider teams who help make that care possible.

🎉 Congratulations to our ICAN cohort!

We’re delighted to celebrate everyone who has completed our 5 week ICAN (Interaction, Communication and Needs) Dementia Training Programme.

The programme explores how interaction and communication can help us better understand the needs of people living with dementia, including recognising and responding to unmet needs.

A big thank you to everyone who took part, shared their experiences and contributed to the learning.

Suzanne was out visiting Prospect House Care Home - Malpas yesterday to deliver Namaste training and their very own Namaste Sensory Basket to Wellbeing Manager Kate.
This was made possible due to the generous grant we received from Tarporley War Memorial Hospital Trust
The training helps care staff and family members understand how dementia can affect the senses and show how simple sensory approaches can create moments of comfort, connection and joy for people living with dementia.

Reflecting on a great day of learning and shared expertise. 🌿

Last week, we brought together health and care professionals for our Breathlessness, Burden and Management in Chronic Respiratory Disease Specialist Palliative Care Education Study Day.

The day explored the complexities of chronic respiratory disease and the impact breathlessness can have on people and their families, alongside practical approaches to assessment, management and supportive care.

Welcome to our new Hospice Leadership cohort! 🌱

Today, we’re delighted to welcome a new group of hospice colleagues to our Hospice Leadership and Management Development Programme.

This cohort brings together colleagues from:
Hospice of the Good Shepherd, East Lancashire Hospice, Claire House, East Cheshire Hospice, St Luke's Cheshire Hospice, Dr Kershaw's Hospice, Dove House Hospice, Eden Valley Hospice and Willowbrook Hospice.

Over the coming months, they’ll be developing practical leadership skills across areas including:
🔹 Understanding the hospice landscape and managing projects
🔹 Managing change
🔹 Challenging performance and having difficult conversations
🔹 Delegating effectively
🔹 Motivating and developing others
🔹 Building personal and team resilience

They’ll also put their learning into practice through a work-based leadership project, giving them the opportunity to make a positive difference within their own organisation.

We’re looking forward to supporting this group as they learn from each other, share experiences and continue to grow as hospice leaders.

Introducing our new CEO

The End of Life Partnership Board of Trustees is delighted to announce the appointment of Annamarie as Chief Executive Officer.

A founding member of EOLP, Annamarie's passion as a nurse, educator and leader has brought her to this exciting time of innovation and organisational growth.

Lynn McGill, Chair of the Board of Trustees said,

"Annamarie has demonstrated tenacity and drive in building EOLPs growing presence and reach. She has secured new partnerships and, engaging with her team closely, is exploring innovative ways to bring our vision to life:

Everyone should experience compassionate and personalised end of life care, and be able to spend their final days in a place where they feel safe, comfortable and at home.

The Board recognises her long-standing history with EOLP and her enthusiasm for our ambitions. We are delighted to confirm her appointment and wish her and her team every success."

A fond farewell to Dave 👋💜

Last week, we said goodbye to our colleague Dave Nunns, who has been part of the EOLP team for the past two years as Macmillan Transformation Lead for Palliative and End of Life Care across Cheshire and Merseyside.

During his time with us, Dave has worked with people and organisations across health and care, helping to build a better understanding of the needs of people approaching the end of life across our region.

One of his biggest achievements has been leading the development of our Population Based Needs Assessment (PBNA) for Palliative and End of Life Care.

This important work brings together data and insight to help us understand local need and has helped inform a new Palliative and End of Life Care Strategy for Cheshire and Merseyside.
It’s a fantastic legacy to leave behind! 👏

Two days to go until our Specialist Palliative Care Education Event for health and social care professionals.

Breathlessness, Burden and Management in Chronic Respiratory Disease

On Thursday 10th September, our specialist study day will explore the assessment, management and palliative care of people living with chronic respiratory disease.

Across the day, expert speakers will cover:
🔹 Bronchiectasis – diagnosis and treatment
🔹 Breathlessness management
🔹 Interstitial lung disease
🔹 To***co addiction
🔹 COPD – diagnosis and treatment
🔹 Oxygen – assessment, prescribing and compliance
🔹 Non-invasive ventilation
🔹 Palliative care and symptom management in end-stage respiratory disease
