🇬🇧 Royal British Legion – Congleton Civic Parade 🇬🇧

Members of the Congleton Royal British Legion, including Chairman Steve Evans, Don, Peter, Andrew, Jason, Noel, Mike and Corey, attended the Civic Parade yesterday.

During the event, a Royal Air Force Ensign Flag was presented, which will be proudly flown on Tuesday to mark Battle of Britain Day and to remember the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought to defend our skies.

We will remember them. 🇬🇧✈️

This morning marked the start of Armed Forces Week.

Members of the Royal British Legion joined the Town Mayor, Cllr Suzy Firkin, Congleton Town Council, and members of the community at the Cenotaph for a short ceremony of remembrance and reflection.

The Town Mayor read the poem ‘When You See a Soldier’ by Kelly Roper before our Chairman, Steve Evans, proudly raised the Union Flag. We then observed a minute’s silence to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Armed Forces Week is an opportunity to show our support for the entire Armed Forces community – serving personnel, veterans, Service families, reservists and cadets – recognising their dedication, service and sacrifice.

We hope you’ll join us on Saturday at The Prince of Wales for this year’s Armed Forces Day event. It promises to be a fantastic day for the whole community, and we look forward to seeing you there! 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
