🧐Tudor origins... we owe more to those Tudors than you might think.

👀When you visit Little Moreton Hall, take a look at the Board Table in the Great Hall. The 16th Century moveable tabletop was known as a board... so the games played on it became board games.

🍗At feasts, the Lord of the Manor sat at the high table on the only chair in the room, while everyone else sat on benches and stools. As the person presiding over the board, he became known as the chairman of the board.

🤝There you have it, everyday words that connect us to history that stretches back over 400 years.

We also have a round table, and as far as we're aware, no traitors or faithful have ever sat round it...

🤩Sue from Inspirate Lifestyles is joining us at Little Moreton Hall for something very special this autumn. Held weekly within our orchard grounds; Tai Chi sessions will be available to attend between 2-3pm, every Thursday until 22 Oct 2026.

🧘‍♀️Tai Chi is a slow form of martial art movement and is suitable for all ages and abilities. Often described as "meditation in motion", it is easy to follow and Sue teaches Qigong Tai Chi which is slow, repeated movements; good for balance, coordination and relaxation.

🫶Sue will guide you gently and confidently around Tai Chi movements.
