🏃‍♀️The Mow Cop Killer Mile is one of the UK’s most iconic and challenging running events, with a history stretching back over 40 years. First held in 1982, the race has become a much-loved fixture in the local and regional running calendar, attracting participants of all ages and abilities - from junior runners and families to club athletes and elite competitors.

💚For this year's race, Chaffinch, the headline sponsor and organising partner, very kindly decided to donate an incredible £2,000 to the National Trust, to help with maintenance, preservation and the upkeep of the beautiful folly that is Mow Cop.

🙏As a Conservation Charity, a donation like this is a game changer, enabling us to carry out some much needed repairs and TLC work to the iconic building and the surrounding area. A sincere thanks to everyone at Killer Mile and all that took part.

🐝We never get bored of talking about the Hall but today the bees are taking centre stage. is a chance for everyone to show their appreciation for these precious pollinators; and it just so happens that the self-led trail at the Hall is completely inspired by all things bees.

🐝Fact drop: over 75% of the world's crops (that yummy stuff on your plate) are pollinated by bees. Busy little bees all over the world are slurping nectar from flowers, the pollen gets stuck to their hairy bodies and is moved on to another flower - helping the plant to make seeds.

🐝Discover more about these wondrous wildlife workers over at the Hall, and see what the buzz is all about.

📌Self-led trail starts Sat 23 May 10.30am - look out for the handy hint boards. Normal admission charges apply - head to the Welcome Building first to get your visit started.

💚Thank you for your words of wisdom and wonder over the years; helping to inspire millions to reconnect to nature and encouraging people to take action to protect this precious planet we call home.

🎉Happy 100 birthday Sir David Attenborough and many happy returns.

📖Thanks to a dedicated team of Research Volunteers at Little Moreton Hall, we are constantly learning more about the Hall, and the fascinating and surprisingly relatable Moreton family that gave life to the wonderfully wonky Hall we know today.

🔎Over the past 6 years the team have transcribed the Moreton family letters held at the British Library, with some support from PhD researcher Abigail Greenall. The reality of these letters have now been brought to life in a new installation at the Hall, carefully crafted by

🎥When you next visit the Hall, be sure to stop a while and watch the 5 minute film that gives an insightful glimpse into the Moreton family - plenty of 'dad can you send me more money,' to 'unwise decisions made in taverns...'

😎Grab a slice of spring skies and cake, before it disappears!

🌞We do love to take a snap of the rare bright blue and black and white contrast of the Hall on a sunny day.

🍰And the scone of the month has a rival, we give you the raspberry and pistachio oh so scrumptious cake. Even if you're not a cake fan, this one definitely lures you in, and just know that every mouthful helps to look after this wonderfully, wonky Hall - thank you 🙏

🌿Nature finds a home amongst history....

🦆Ducks on the gritstone roof, bees buzzing in the courtyard, moths meandering on mighty oak beams and crown imperials against a black and white backdrop. If you look all around you when visiting the Hall, you'll discover hidden pockets of nature, with all creatures great and small resting, making homes, growing or gathering food (apologies in advance for the ducks - they are getting bolder and unapologetically greedy).

❤️Nature brings us joy everyday and we can all do our bit to give that joy back to nature, even if that means having to share your lunch with the ducks 😉
