Congleton Youth Info Point is a website developed and run by Congleton Youth Council. The website aims to provide young people with volunteering opportunities and other activities outside of the school environment. We believe strongly in giving young people every possible opportunity to present themselves in a positive light within the community, whilst at the same time constructing strong CVs to
give them the best start to adult life. We also aim to support with an online presence any community projects that are aimed at young people in Congleton. The website is currently in its infancy and in the future we hope to expand into listing work experience and other job opportunities on our site. It is our goal to ensure that our site continues to provide a much-needed facility to young people well into the future. In 2011, the Youth Council conducted a survey and produced a report of just over 500 young people. The survey contained questions about various aspects of youth life within Congleton. The finished report was presented to Fiona Bruce MP in Parliament and, following this, the Youth Council set about working towards the points which it had revealed as being important. One resulting project, therefore, was to increase youth involvement outside of school in both general activities and volunteering. Thus the idea of a Youth Info Point was conceived. Funded by Congleton Town Council, and designed and developed by Nathan Davies, the website is finally ready to serve its purpose. We hope that with some continued hard work Congleton Youth Info Point will benefit both the organisations that sign up and young individuals by helping them to find the activities and opportunities they want.
