The Graham Dog Sanctuary The purpose of our charity is to help the old, the injured and the overlooked dogs who have been in a shelter for far too long.

With kindness, care and great veterinary support, we aim to find them safe and loving, forever homes.

Three years.

That’s how long Freya waited for someone to choose her.

Albie has never known life outside a shelter. Dumped with his siblings as a tiny puppy, he’s spent the last two years watching the world go by from behind kennel doors.

And now… this.

A sofa. A garden. A family. Other dogs to show them the ropes. The freedom to simply be dogs.

This is the first 48 hours of their new life. Freya has taken it all in her stride. Calm, gentle and content, as though she somehow knows she’s finally home.

Albie is a little different. The world is big, noisy and sometimes quite scary when you’ve never experienced it before. Every sound, smell and sight is brand new. But considering where he’s come from, he’s doing incredibly well, and we’re so proud of him.

Is rescue always easy? No.

Is it always worth it? Absolutely.

Some dogs need a little time. Some need a lot of patience. But every single one deserves the chance.

This beautiful girl is Kiss 🖤🐾

Found abandoned by the roadside with her siblings at just three months old, left to survive on their own.

Most of her brothers and sisters have now found homes.

Kiss is still waiting.

Which is hard to understand when you meet her, because she’s exactly what most people say they’re looking for - young, beautiful, friendly, and desperate to love somebody.

While the others have started their new lives, Kiss is still waking up in a shelter every morning wondering when her turn will come.

We’d love this post to help change that.

NEW RESCUE BABY INCOMING! 🥳🙌🐾🩷

Meet Freya (or the “artist formerly known as” Martini 😂)

This little lady has been in the shelter for 3 YEARS!!

She was found with a large branch sticking through her leg, poor baby, but has made a full recovery and has been waiting oh so patiently for the furever home she so deserves 🥹

She’ll be flying over soon so if you’re interested in the process of rescuing from Cyprus, make sure to follow and we’ll share all the stages with you 🩷🐾

For now, please welcome this lovely lady to the Graham pack - we cannot wait to pick her up! ✈️

These are Patsy & Percy 🖤🐾

Brother and sister. Tiny puppies when we first filmed them in Cyprus last year.

We genuinely thought they’d be snapped up almost immediately.

Instead, they’ve grown up in a shelter.

Watching old footage of them as little fluffball puppies knowing they’re STILL waiting a year later is pretty heartbreaking.

They’re gorgeous little terrier crosses with the sweetest scruffy faces, playful personalities, and the kind of look people usually queue up for.

Percy is the cheeky, playful little chaos goblin. Patsy is full of curiosity, cuddles, and gentle sweetness. Both absolutely adore attention and would fit into family life beautifully.

It’s hard not to wonder how many people are still searching breeders and scrolling puppy websites while dogs like these are sitting in shelters already waiting to love somebody with their whole hearts.

We hope you’re enjoying a glorious Bank Holiday weekend- but while you’re sipping your Aperol Spritz or enjoying a sausage or two off the BBQ, spare a thought for the 160 dogs alone at PAWS Dog Shelter, 🥺

Meet Arco 😍

This boy was found alone at a busy crossroads surrounded by traffic, somehow avoiding becoming roadkill by pure luck and rescued by a PAWS volunteer.

Now?
He’s basically one giant puppy-shaped serotonin boost.

Arco has already been at the shelter for over a year 😢 Which is crazy because he is the most amazing boy - all ears, legs, cuddles, and enthusiasm. He absolutely adores people and loves being involved in whatever’s going on - whether that’s fuss, playtime, or just following you around like a shadow.

He’s still young, still learning, and will need guidance like any big puppy… but there’s something very special about him.

This is Bob 🖤🐾

Bob is thought to be a hunting dog who was likely abandoned at the end of the season because he was no longer considered “good enough.”

And once you meet him, that thought is heartbreaking.

Because despite clearly being unsure of people at times, Bob still desperately wants to trust. You can see it all over his face. In those eyes. 👀

He greets you happily in his kennel, leans into gentle affection, and wants connection so badly… but once he’s outside the safety of what he knows, his uncertainty creeps back in.

Dogs like Bob don’t need perfection.
They need patience. Consistency. Kindness. And someone willing to show them that humans can be safe too.

He’s such a gentle soul. 🐾

And genuinely, every like, comment, and especially every SHARE helps these dogs reach more people and gives them a better chance of finally finding a home. 🖤

What PAWS Dog Shelter, is really like 🐾

And this video still doesn’t even show all of the kennels.

So many different breeds. So many personalities. So many dogs desperate for affection, safety, and a home of their own.

When places like this exist, it’s hard to understand how there’s still such a huge demand for buying dogs.

There are already so many incredible dogs out there just waiting to be chosen. 🖤

Over 160 dogs at PAWS and after breakfast, you can actually hear the crickets 🤯🤷🏻‍♀️
It's a testament to how well cared for they are that they settle once their tummies are full.
All feeding, cleaning and walking is done by volunteers so if you're ever visiting and love dogs, do go and visit - they're always grateful for any help, even if it's just spending some time with the dogs 🥰
