Thank you to our Permit Holders for their cooperation and understanding this week so we could carry out some maintenance in the Boat Park.

A big thanks also goes out to the Sailing Club volunteers coordinated through our Chair Jon Kidd who pitched in to help move things back and forth.

Finally, thank you for a great job carried out by Hill at Enhanscapes Ltd. to give this area some very overdue attention, tidy & deep clean. It looks brilliant!

Next up is the stack of kayaks: so if you or anyone you know has any kayaks left in this area then please can they be removed ASAP.

⚠ ⛔ Any unclaimed items still left in this area by 16th November will be noted down on our list for immediate disposal. ⛔ ⚠

We are looking at options for permitted kayak storage so if anyone would be interested, please email the Clerk.

Please note that the Boat Park area is exclusively for the use of permit holders and all spaces are fully booked.

We do have a waiting list for the Boat Park bays so if you would like your name added for future consideration then please email the Clerk.

📣 REMINDER for those in the Parish Council Boat Park - you need to move your boat! 📣

🛶 You should have had an email from the Parish Clerk, Fran, to remove your boat by/on Monday Oct 12th to the adjacent car parking area (we have permission from Cornwall Council) for the next week.

🚣‍♂️ Remaining boats, including those without permission, will need to be removed or moved. Kayaks will need to be moved to the kayak rack in order to allow the maintenance works to progress.

⚓️ You also may need to pump up your trailer tyres!

☝️You’ve been warned!

We have been provided the following information from Cornwall Council regarding the upcoming closure of Lower Anderton Road for essential works to take place.

Today, we had a highly productive walk along the Kingsand/Cawsand seafront to discuss protecting our community from severe coastal flooding.

The meeting provided an essential opportunity to discuss the severe impacts of past storms and allowed seafront residents to voice their concerns in person. Our discussions focused on identifying both short-term protective measures and long-term strategic solutions.

We remain committed to working alongside the community to explore all available options to strengthen our local flood resilience.

A big thanks goes to Cllr Ewert & Cllr Kidd for organising this meeting today and for all in attendance;

- Both the Chair of the Parish Council, Jon & our Clerk, Fran represented Maker with Rame

- Kate Ewert - Cornwall Councillor represented the Rame Peninsula

- Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Asset Manager, Sean from Cornwall Council.

- Coastal Specialist, Justin represented both Cornwall Council & the Environment Agency in his dual role.

"The works have progressed very well so far, and we are now in the final stages of the work on the road to renew the water main – this will include final reinstatements and any additional works off the road itself.

As a result, we are very hopeful that the road will reopen well ahead of schedule, and although we are not able to confirm a date at this moment in time, it is hoped to be one week earlier than originally planned.

We will be able to provide a definitive update on the reopening date by Wednesday 23rd and the local Councils will be able to share that information as soon as it is confirmed to them.

Thank you to all the local residents who have been patient and understand during the works so far."

Shoutout to Hill from Enhanscapes Ltd. for our new custom made bench at the Cawsand Bus Triangle which was installed this week.

The previous bench was removed during the summer due to damage and it no longer being secure/safe to use.

This design was chosen to replicate the bench on the other side of this bus stop with concrete plinths and a deep wooden seating area. This was custom made to fit the unique size with European Green Oak planks and ensuring the beautiful tiling wasn't obscured and fully on display.

Thank you Hill and we hope you all love it as much as we do.
