CBC are running a scoping consultation to inform the upcoming Local Plan, following changes to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF). This consultation will help CBC to understand whether the issues raised in 2024 remain important, and to ask new questions that will help inform our engagement strategy for the next stages of the Local Plan.
Consultation opened: Wednesday 8 April 2026
Consultation closes: Wednesday 20 May 2026
This stage doesn’t decide development sites but checks priorities and invites fresh input to shape the plan before it’s drafted.

Anglian water have an emergency road closure in place on Gravenhurst Rd, Campton. The closure is due to be in place until 12th May 2026.

Dear Resident, Central Bedfordshire Council have asked for residents views on their proposed increases to the following areas Adult Social Care, Planning Services,Licening, Highways and Environmental Services which in some cases will be going up by 6.2%. Details of the changes can be found at

The Parish Council are delighted to see so many people making use of the new Health living area. However, the Parish Council would like to ask all dog owners not to leave dog mess and not to throw dog bags containing mess into the hedges . The bags should be placed in the bin just as you leave the recreation ground on Rectory Road.
We would also ask residents not to plant, plants with out contacting the Parish Council first as there is an agreement on what can be planted on the fields.

We have been made aware by Anglian Water that residents may experience lower water pressure than usual due to a damaged pipe by a contractor. This is likely to last until early June.

Central Bedfordshire Council have updated us that:

Garden waste collections will start again week commencing 23rd February 2026.

From 1st April 2026 glass bottles and jars can be recycled with your recycling material.

Poppies.

The Councillors would like to send out a big thank you to all the volunteers in the Parish that have been crocheting poppies for Remembrance Day. So far they have produced 2000 of the 6000 needed. Congratulations.

Reason: Replace cover and frame on chamber outside number 15 This closure is expected to take place from 5 to 7 May for 24hrs a day.

Diversion: Greenway, A507, Shefford Rd, High St, Campton Rd and vice versa.
