We were able to get down to Aldershot Town FC Open Day today with a few of the Turnstyle family.

It was brilliant to see the open training session on the pitch, alongside plenty of activities happening around the ground thanks to The Shots Foundation.

There’s nothing quite like seeing the community come together. 🙌

This is what we get up to outside of Turnstyle.

Craig took on Ben Nevis with his son Jake this summer, proving the office isn’t the only place we push ourselves.

“Representing Turnstyle at the top of Ben Nevis, Scotland today with my son Jake. Weather certainly a bit cooler up here than it has been down south!”

Nice work Craig and Jake.

High Sheriff of Hampshire Visits Turnstyle at BohuntFarnborough

Turnstyle was delighted to welcome the highsheriffhampshire, William Maltby, to Bohunt School for an afternoon celebrating the impact of our work with young people.

The visit provided an opportunity to showcase both our one-to-one mentoring and group programmes, while introducing William to several young people who have completed their journey with Turnstyle and continue to thrive. Hearing directly from those young people about their experiences made the afternoon particularly special.

Following the visit, William shared some incredibly kind words with our team:

“All I saw yesterday was lovely young people, glowing with confidence, enthusiasm and joy.”

He went on to recognise the challenges facing many young people today and praised the partnerships that enable Turnstyle’s work to continue, highlighting the importance of consistent support in helping young people build confidence, resilience and brighter futures.

The visit also created valuable new connections which are already leading to exciting opportunities for some of the young people we support, demonstrating the lasting value that comes when organisations, schools and communities work together.

We would like to thank William for his generosity, encouragement and genuine interest in the lives of our young people. We are equally grateful to Bohunt School for their ongoing partnership and to VIVID Plus, whose support enables us to provide long-term interventions where lasting change can take place.

At Turnstyle, we often say that change happens through relationships. This visit was a wonderful reminder of just how powerful those relationships can be.

Real change takes time.

Building trust, confidence and resilience doesn’t happen overnight. That’s why long-term funding is so important. It allows consistent support for young people as they navigate challenges, celebrate progress and continue moving forward.

When organisations invest in long-term support, they’re investing in brighter futures. They’re giving young people the time, stability and opportunities they need to grow, both in school and in life.

To hear the young people finish by saying, “Thank you Vivid. Thank you Turnstyle,” means more than we can put into words.

Thank you, Vivid+, for believing in this work and making it possible. Together, we’re helping young people create lasting change that extends into every part of their lives.

Confidence starts with belonging.

“He motivated me to keep going, trust in myself and that everything, in the end, will be alright.”

“It made me feel included. They’re very understanding. It makes you feel heard.”

At Turnstyle, confidence isn’t built overnight. It starts with young people feeling accepted, valued and knowing that someone is genuinely in their corner.

When a young person feels heard, they begin to believe in themselves. When they feel included, they find confidence. And when they know they belong, real change begins.

Why we exist.

Hearing a young person say, “I’m now one of the most behaved students in school, with the most achievement points,” is exactly why we do what we do.

At Turnstyle, we use combat sports, physical activity, mentoring and positive role models to help young people build confidence, develop discipline and, most importantly, engage and focus on their education.

But the most powerful part is hearing it directly from the young people themselves.

To see a young person who may have struggled in school begin to turn things around, improve their behaviour, achieve more and become a standout student is incredibly rewarding.

This is why we exist. To help young people realise their potential, both inside and outside the classroom.

Big thank you to our sponsor in the support to allow us support these young people.

In between coaching Team England at the Commonwealth Games, Turnstyle Director made a trip home to Shrewsbury, where the incredibly powerful Knife Angel is currently on display.

The Knife Angel is a powerful reminder of the devastating impact of knife crime and the importance of education, prevention and positive intervention.

At Turnstyle, educating young people around knife crime is something we do every day. Through our school programmes, mentoring and youth work, we create spaces for young people to have honest conversations about the realities and consequences of carrying a knife, while helping them understand the choices they have and the opportunities available to them.

It’s not just about talking about knife crime when it makes the headlines. It’s about having those conversations every day, building trust, challenging perceptions and helping young people make positive choices before it’s too late.

Education. Conversation. Prevention. Every day.
