Mae hi'n boeth! It is hot!

We see lots of hedgehogs that are dehydrated. In this warm spell, it is even more important to have shallow bowls of fresh, clean water out for wildlife.

Have you got liquid refreshment available? They'll thank you for it!

RELEASE: 15/05

Remember Dan (admitted on 05/04, 657g)? He was found out in the daytime entrapped in a street drain. Luckily, the finder's dog alerted them to it.

Our lead carer, Dave, went to the rescue and managed to get him out safely by prising the drain cover up. He was in an awful state nails were worn right down, stinking dirty and smelly.

Healthy, clean, parasite free and up to weight, Dan was released to a fab support garden with a nest box ready.

Stay safe Dan and good luck!

** Please check any drains in your garden are suitably covered to prevent wildlife getting trapped. **

Release 15/05
Emily!

Emily was admitted on 31/03, 787g. She was found out in the daytime, tangled up in football netting. She was taken to Marlborough Road and Petherton Vets then passed onto us.

Two wounds under both front arms (caused by the netting digging into her skin), fleas and a couple of ticks (all of which have been removed). She also had mild ringworm and was slightly dehydrated.

Now healthy again wounds healed lovely she is back out where she belongs. Out at 1152g.

Good luck Emily!

** PLEASE REMEMBER TO KEEP ANY NETTING OFF THE GROUND SO WILDLIFE DOESN'T GET TANGLED IN IT. **
Note our support garden does have a football net but raised it right up off the floor for safety. 🩷

Thank you for the purchase of a nest box.

Meet John!

John was admitted into care on 11/05, 495g. He was found out in the daytime for around 3 days before coming in to us, from the Thornhill area in Cardiff .

After an assessment he was dehydrated, and very emaciated. His skin is a little dry.

On screening his faeces we found parasite burdens of Fluke, Capillaria (roundworm) and Crenosoma (lungworm).

John's treatment plan is underway, he is receiving fluid therapy, pain relief and 3/4 way through his antibiotics he's progressing slowly at present and now 595g.
