✨ Just three weeks to go until the Healthier Heroes Annual Fundraising Ball! ✨

Join us on Saturday 14 November for a special evening celebrating our work and raising vital funds to support veterans and their families.

🎟️ Tickets and tables are still available, but there are only two weeks left before bookings close!

We’d love to bring our supporters, friends and partners together in one room to celebrate the difference we are making together and hear about the fantastic work taking place across Healthier Heroes.

Whether you’re joining us as an individual, with friends or hosting a table with colleagues, we’d love to see you there.

Dean G was the winner of The Jordan Bancroft Award - Resident of the Week.

His appearance application of the 3 Pillars of The Internal Compass programme - Awareness, Acceptance & Autonomy - have helped him to take huge steps towards his personal goals and also make massive progress in his recovery, overall wellbeing, and provided huge inspiration to others.

Again, the team and peers are all very proud of you.

Gavin W and Paul F won our October Residents of the Month award for their outstanding commitment to their recovery journeys and motivation to keep pushing forwards despite the challenges that recovery from addiction brings.

Both the residents have moved mountains in their time at Bancroft House and both show tremendous and consistent honesty, bravery, and resilience. We are very proud of you both.

Will has been incredible hes been supporting all the residents, coordinating activities and driving to all the smart meetings ensuring all residents get to access the support networks they need.

He’s been brilliant with motivating residents and being there as a positive role model.

🧡 A massive thank you to Vikki Holden and her mother-in-law, Beverley, for their kindness and generosity towards Healthier Heroes.

Vickie’s husband, Damien Holden, sadly passed away unexpectedly recently and our thoughts are with Vikki his children, his mum Beverley, and all those who loved him.

Together, they have kindly donated £100 raised from the sale of their autumn displays, alongside Halloween welfare boxes for our residents at Bancroft House. 🎃

To think of others while experiencing such a heartbreaking loss is incredibly thoughtful. Your kindness will bring smiles to our residents and remind them that their community cares.

From all our residents, staff, Rio and Andy thank you both. 🧡

Dates for Remembrance Services in Burnley, November 2026

Burnley will come together this November to honour the courage, service and sacrifice of all those who have served, and continue to serve, in the Armed Forces.

Remembrance Parade and Sunday Service
📅 Sunday 8 November 2026

The public are invited to watch the parade from 10:30am outside Marks & Spencer on St James’ Street, or gather at the Peace Gardens from 10:45am. The service will begin at 10:50am, including prayers, readings, music and the laying of wreaths.

📅 Wednesday 11 November 2026

The service will provide an opportunity for quiet reflection and remembrance, ahead of the national two-minute silence at 11:00am.
Everyone is welcome to attend and join the people of Burnley in paying their respects to those who have served and sacrificed for our country.

Residents and staff from Morgan house were out today supporting the Poppy appeal in Guisborough

It’s fantastic that we’re able to provide the support across all of our projects which enables us to help raise as much funds as we can for the poppy appeal

Today our veteran staff and residents are supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeals at Aldi, Barnoldswick with the Barnoldswick & District RBL between 10:00 - 14:00.

We will also be supporting the Burnley RBL Poppy Appeal at Tescos between 12:00 - 16:00.

We hope to see you there and thank you for your support.
