This is an opportunity to have your voice heard and help shape a long-term vision for Burnley. Together, we'll explore how we can tackle isolation, deprivation and division by strengthening grassroots communities and supporting people to make a difference where they live.

Are you aged 65+ and looking for ways to improve your wellbeing, reduce stress, and feel more connected?

The Mindful Life Group is offering a fully funded six-week online mindfulness programme, starting Tuesday 20th October 2026, from 2pm to 4pm, accessible from the comfort of home.

Do you work or volunteer in the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector, health and social care, or regularly support people in your community?

The Talk Cancer workshop, funded by Lancashire and South Cumria Cancer Alliance, is designed to give you the confidence, skills and knowledge to have effective conversations about cancer and health.

✅ Learn how to talk about cancer with confidence
✅ Understand cancer awareness and early detection
✅ Help people reduce their cancer risk
✅ Address fears and barriers around seeking help
✅ Understand the impact of health inequalities
✅ Support people to access local services and screening programmes

This training is ideal for anyone who wants to become a Cancer Awareness Champion and make a positive difference within their organisation and community.

Have Your Say on the Future of Vascular Services 🏥

The NHS in Lancashire and South Cumbria is seeking views on proposed changes to vascular services across Lancashire, South Cumbria and Wigan.

Under the proposal, all planned and emergency inpatient vascular surgery would take place at Royal Preston Hospital, rather than across both Preston and Blackburn. This could mean people in East Lancashire travelling further for inpatient vascular care.

📢 Local residents, patients, carers and community groups are encouraged to review the proposals and share their views.
