π Carers Week 2026 | 9β15 June π
Did you know that many people who provide regular support to a loved one do not identify themselves as a carer?
You may be a carer if you help someone who could not manage without your support because of illness, disability, mental health needs, addiction or frailty.
This year's Carers Week theme is Building Carer Friendly Communities, focusing on making sure carers are recognised, supported and able to access the help they need.
The NHS encourages carers to look after their own health and wellbeing too. Caring for someone else can be rewarding, but it can also be physically and emotionally demanding. It is important that carers take time for their own appointments, health checks and support when needed.
At The Swan Practice, we want to help identify and support carers within our patient community. If you are caring for someone, please let us know so that we can ensure your records are up to date and help signpost you to appropriate support services.
π Looking after someone else starts with looking after yourself.
