The flags are flying in the High Street to mark the beginning of events around the country leading to Armed Forces Day on 27 June. 🇬🇧

A moment to say thank you; not just to serving personnel, but also veterans, reservists, cadets, and the families who stand beside them every step of the way.

Brandon Poppy Appeal volunteers will be at Brandon Market on Thursday morning. There will be some limited edition Armed Forces Badges and some 2026 Poppy Pins available. We also have a voucher for Tilly's Tearoom worth £25. You can win this voucher by guessing correctly how many poppies are in the jar for just £1 a guess.

Please do come along and say hello to our fantastic volunteers.

On this day 82 years ago, tens of thousands of courageous British and Allied soldiers, sailors and aircrew took part in the D-Day landings, the largest seaborne invasion in history.

Today we remember the service and sacrifice of all those involved, commencing the liberation of France and Western Europe and turning the tide in the Second World War. Together with personnel from the United States, Canada, Australia, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, France, Greece, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Denmark and Poland, British forces showed immense courage, and endured great sacrifice.

We will remember them.

Thank you to everyone who supported the 2025 Poppy Appeal, and wore their poppy with pride. ❤️

Together, we raised an amazing £56.6 million! 🎉

These funds will help people like Ian Dewer, who became homeless in 2022 after health issues and loss of employment. Emergency housing and life‑changing financial and practical support helped Ian and his family rebuild their lives.

They'll also help people like Tony McGlone, who had his left leg amputated almost three decades after an army training injury shattered his foot and ankle. We helped Tony with a new boiler and new kitchen; food and clothing vouchers while he and his partner were unable to work and emergency financial support.

We couldn't have achieved this without our dedicated volunteers, partners and supporters. Thank you for your hard work - we can't wait to do it all again for Poppy Appeal 2026!

The stressors of a life in service can continue even after leaving the military.

Stress doesn’t disappear with a uniform, and for the Armed Forces community, it can take many forms.

However stress shows up for you, we’re here to provide support – whatever the need, whenever it’s needed.
