CHAIRMAN’S END OF SEASON STATEMENT

As we bring another season to a close, I would like to thank everyone associated with the Club for their dedication, commitment, and support throughout the year.

This season has brought its challenges, but also many moments of pride, resilience, and success. One of the highlights was the continued growth of our club events, particularly the second Bodmin Youth FC Tournament. The tournament attracted teams, players, families, and supporters from across the region and showcased the very best of youth football, community spirit, and sportsmanship. Its success is a credit to our volunteers, sponsors, and organising committee, and we look forward to building on this achievement in future years.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our players and coaching staff for their hard work, commitment, and determination. Their efforts have represented the Club with pride throughout the season.

Several of our teams also enjoyed significant success on the pitch, securing league championships and cup titles. These achievements reflect the dedication of our players, coaches, and volunteers and demonstrate the continued strength of football across the Club.

I would also like to recognise our volunteers, committee members, and matchday staff. Much of your work takes place behind the scenes, but it is vital to the successful running of the Club. Your commitment is greatly appreciated.

Our sponsors and partners also deserve special recognition. Your support enables us to develop, grow, and provide opportunities for young people across our community.

Most importantly, I would like to thank our supporters. Your loyalty, encouragement, and passion are at the heart of Bodmin Youth FC and inspire everyone involved with the Club.

As we look ahead, preparations for next season are already underway. We remain committed to strengthening the Club both on and off the pitch and building a sustainable future for generations to come.

At Coldharbour, we are excited to soon see our new clubhouse completed and fully operational for the new season. This half-million-pound investment represents a major milestone for Bodmin Youth FC and will provide enhanced facilities for players, coaches, volunteers, and supporters alike. We believe it will become a focal point for both the Club and the wider community for many years to come.

As the Club continues to grow, we are always keen to hear from individuals and businesses who would like to become part of our journey. Whether through sponsorship, volunteering, coaching, committee involvement, or helping establish new teams, we welcome anyone who shares our passion for creating opportunities for young people through football.

We would also encourage members, supporters, families, and friends to help promote the Club by liking, following, and sharing our page. Your support helps us reach new audiences, attract volunteers and sponsors, and showcase the fantastic work taking place across Bodmin Youth FC.

Our next club event will be our Annual General Meeting (AGM), with the date to be announced shortly. The AGM provides an opportunity to review the season, discuss the future direction of the Club, and welcome new ideas and support. If you are interested in joining the Committee, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] for more information.

While the season may have ended, our ambition continues. Together, we will work hard to ensure that next year brings new opportunities, fresh achievements, and continued growth for our Club.

Thank you once again for your support throughout the season. We look forward to welcoming you back for another exciting year.

Yours sincerely,

Phil Harris
Chairman

We were delighted to bring back the Club Person of the Year Award at Bodmin Youth.

The award recognises players who go above and beyond for the club, not just on the pitch but as outstanding ambassadors within our football family. Each winner received a trophy, certificate, and a Sports Direct voucher in recognition of their efforts.

For the 2025/26 season, we had four superstars who consistently gave their time to help the club. They assisted with the food stall at last year’s tournament, supported the carnival and Sports in the Park events, and the girls also helped make our Christmas Party a success.

A huge congratulations to:

⚽️ Rosie Barr
⚽️ Sofia Waldron
⚽️ Jacob Cook
⚽️ Rayna Barr

These four are fantastic role models and truly embody the spirit of Bodmin Youth.

Even better, this season they were back at it again, helping out at this year’s tournament. What’s most encouraging is that they weren’t alone — several new faces stepped forward to volunteer and get involved too.

The future is looking bright for Bodmin Youth, and it’s fantastic to see so many young people giving back to their club and community.

Well done to all involved! ⚽️💙💛⚽️

Yesterday we finished the season of in style, with our Coaches v Parents match and club presentation.

With over 40 players and 4 x 25min quarters we did our best to put on a show on for all those who came to watch.

The parents had the better of it and went 2-0 up. The coaches dug in. we got a goal back. Then there was a 'ghost goal' where a few thought the coaches had scored again. It was not given. The parents rattled the post and bar on a couple of occasions. Then with the last kick off the game the coaches equalized making it 2-2.

Straight to penalties, both teams buried their first 5 before sudden death. On this occasion Stuart hill became the hero and saved down to his left.

The coaches retain the cup. The game was played exactly how it should have been. The parents can count themselves unlucky and I expect to see them next year where I would have them down as favourites.

Huge thank you to all that attended.

The U8s Winners Trophy is proudly sponsored by Dan Minear at Shoeboy.

For the second year running, Shoeboy has helped us with all our tournament and end-of-season awards, ensuring everything is top quality and engraved perfectly. Thanks to the excellent service Dan and his team provide, the majority of our youth teams now choose Shoeboy for their individual team awards as well.

Shoeboy is also the go-to place for shoe repairs and key cutting. No job is too big or too small for these experts in their field, who always deliver outstanding service.
