🎉 Exciting News!

The Parochial Church Council (PCC) of St Oswald's is delighted to share some encouraging news about the future of the Church of England in our parish.
Over recent months, people have been wondering what the future might hold for Christian ministry and mission in our community. We are pleased to share that Rev LJ Tiffney has been licensed to lead a new and exciting ministry in our community. This venture seeks to build on our Christian heritage while looking to the future.

💬 A Message From Rev LJ Tiffney

"I have been working in the Diocese of Blackburn for the last seven years, most recently ministering in Blackpool. I am particularly passionate about ministry and mission on urban estates and have experience pioneering a new congregation. I am looking forward to getting to know the people of Knuzden and Shadsworth, sharing the Good News about Jesus, and working with God to build His church in this place."

🌟 A New Chapter Begins

As a PCC, we welcome this wonderful news. We hope that this new chapter will create fresh opportunities to:
• Explore faith
• Build community
• Engage with the life of the Church
We look forward to welcoming LJ, hearing more about her, and we hope you will join us in extending a huge welcome!

Dear Friends,
We know it has been a long time, and at times the wheels of progress have seemed incredibly slow. We want to thank you all so much for your ongoing patience, faithfulness, and support during this quiet period.

While things may have seemed at a standstill from the outside, there have been lightning-speed developments behind the scenes over the last couple of weeks.

We are incredibly excited about what is unfolding, and we hope to be able to bring you some amazing news over the next week or so.
Please keep our church and community in your prayers as we prepare to share this next chapter with you.
With every blessing 🙏🙏
Cheryl, Alison & Sonia on behalf of
The Parochial Church Council (PCC)
St Oswald’s, Knuzden

BIN THE KNIFE, SAVE A LIFE 🔪🚫

We are proud to work alongside The Big Local Community Shop, Shad Chefs, and the award-winning JJ Effect CIC to make our streets safer for everyone.

If you or someone you know is carrying a weapon or has bladed articles at home, please take this opportunity to safely and anonymously dispose of them with zero judgment.

📍 Location: The Big Local Community Shop

⏰ Amnesty Bin Hours: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Since launching this initiative, this partnership has taken countless knives off the streets of Blackburn and facilitated over 20 Knife Crime Awareness sessions across Blackburn with Darwen. Every blade turned in is a potential life saved.

Drop the knife, change a life — together, we're cutting knife crime down in our community. ❤️
