The Big Local Community Shop Summer Carnival incorporating the fantastic Strong Man & Woman Competition by Sons of Anxiety Strength Club

Saturday 25th July 11am - 3pm

Entry to the event is Free with £5 wristbands available for the activities.

We will have a selection of stock from our Community Shop plus lots of activities such as Archery 🎯 Axe throwing, Airsoft target range and S'mores with Wood Sage Outdoor Food & Refreshments plus lots of games and crafts stalls.

📢 We will be open today from 12pm for a couple of hours.

There will be a limited amount of food boxes(£7) available, collection only.
Unfortunately we don't save or reserve any boxes.

These will be available on a first come first served basis. 😊

💧 £300 oil heating support available

If you live in Blackburn with Darwen, rely on oil for heating, and are struggling with costs, you could be eligible for a £300 one-off payment through the Government’s Crisis and Resilience Fund.

You may qualify if you:

✅ Are off the gas grid
✅ Can’t afford an oil refill (quote/invoice needed)
✅ Are on a low income, receive Universal Credit or a disability benefit

👀 Free Children's Grab Bags👀

Our amazing volunteers will be busy putting together our Free Children's lunch grab bags 🥪🧃🍏 ready for collection here at The Big Local Community Shop Tuesday 7th and Thursday 9th April from 10 am till 12 noon.
Everyone can take double on both days as they are not available on Wednesday and Friday.

This is open to all children from any school and will be on a collection only basis.

Please don't struggle our volunteers are here to support and help you.

Parents, Grandparents, Child minders and Carers bring the little ones down to The Big Local Community Shop Playgroup here at St Oswald's Community Hall. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9.30 am to 11.30 am.

Lots of space for the little ones for fun, play, crafts and activities plus the chance to socialise and meet new friends 😃
