Rosy came in to us Tuesday afternoon after she was found by a scan angel that morning, who had concerns she had Pyometra. She was taken to a vet and luckily it was just early signs of labour so she was brought straight over to Polly, our foster who also has Honey and her 5!

She had her first kitten yesterday afternoon and her last one early this morning, a total of 6 kittens🄰She has her work cut out with 6, as does Polly with two moms and 11 kittens🫣Luckily Honeys kittens are now 4 weeks old so they’re not all getting big at the same timešŸ˜‚All 6 weigh over 100g so already off to a decent start🄰

How absolutely adorable are they though! No enquiries yet pleaseā¤ļø

The rescue has little funds and little space as is for the cats already in care, the pressure felt when people message me personally to ask to help is so immense and I feel like I can’t say no even though the rescue can’t afford to take any more in at the minute with multiple poorly cats and lots of tummies to feed. Feel free to tag the page in any posts in case a space has come up, I see most of the posts on my feed anyway, but please do not message me directly for the time being asking to take in any more cats, or expect me to be able to reply to every request.

Especially don’t ring and ring and ring my phone, it is my personal phone number. I am one person doing this completely voluntarily and not obligated to reply to anyone as soon as you get in contact. I have two jobs outside of this, and the time I’m not spent working in some form is very minimal! I get lots of calls/messages 24/7 and it totally consumes any bit of free time I do have. It’s extremely mentally draining, and totally unfair for me as one person to be expected to help anyone and everyone at the drop of a hat.

If you need help/advice absolutely desperately leave a detailed text/facebook message explaining the situation and I will get to people when I can. Running a rescue is beyond mentally draining as is without the added pressure from people. Multiple rescues are closing down because of the pressure from people, lack of funds etc and that’s not something I want to do but every day I question if doing this is the right thing to do or not.
Thank you x

ADOPTION POST

Fred is finally up for adoption after recovering from his injured leg that we initially thought we’d need to amputate! Luckily he’s healed absolutely perfectly and not bothered by it at all. The only issue is in the future there could be potential arthritis so would need to watch out for that!

He is the perfect balance of a lap cat and a crazy ginger nut. He will follow you around the house to see what you're up to but he will follow anything you throw for him much closer! He is curious about lots of things in the house and will give anything resembling string a test nibble. In the day he's more than happy to find a spot near you and curl up for a nap.

Fred's new owner will have to be prepared to play with him, 1: because he loves playing, and 2: because he can't run around outdoors. Fred has FIV, so sadly he will have to remain a house cat. But don’t let this put you off, he is perfectly healthy and can be homed with other cats, FIV or not as long as they aren’t the fighting type.

Rogue has settled straight back into his foster home, with exactly 0 of these issues brought up by his adopter which makes me think either it wasn’t true or he was stressed in the environment! There must be a lovely home out there for him, one that will have patience and allow him time to settle in properly🄰

If I showed you this photo and asked if these two kittens were the same age what would you say?
No, right? Me too probably!! But they’re actually siblings who are 4 weeks old today! Jango is only 285g whilst Leia is over 400g now!

These are the last remaining of Hazzies 7 babies, Leia and Jango. There were many times where foster mom Jess didn’t think they’d make it, even the vets said they were unlikely to pull through. But with a lot of determination, patience and kitten formula they are both doing wellā¤ļøThey are still extremely vulnerable though with their age so we’re still taking it day by day

Hazzie is also doing well and has been a wonderful mom to both of them!

A heatwave is on the way šŸŒ”ļø – here's what to expect from your cat!

Over the next few days, temperatures are set to climb. And if your cat starts eating a little less... don't stress. It's completely normal – cats can eat up to 15% less when it's hot. It's just their biology doing exactly what it's supposed to do. I know it’s natural to panic if your cat suddenly eats less than they usually would but it is definitely normal in this heat so don’t panic straight away!

A few things that can help:

šŸ•— Shift mealtimes to the cool parts of the day – Earlier mornings and later evenings tend to work best when it's not as warm outside.

šŸ½ļø Smaller portions, more often – Pop any leftovers straight in the fridge as it can go nasty quick, definitely don’t leave any left over food out for the flies to get to!

✨ Add Sprinkles – If they need a little extra encouragement to tuck in, freeze dried meal toppers or complementary toppers can do the trick. Katkin, seriously good etc all do some great freeze dried treats, and our Mango will only eat her food if we add untamed to it sometimes!

šŸ’¦Add extra water to food (just a spoonful to not put them off!). You can purchase water fountains too which should encourage them to drink, as we all know cats are notorious for not drinking enough at the best of times!

šŸ›ļøCool mats are great for cats to sleep on during this weather, you can purchase these from Amazon or pets at home. Try not to get the ones with gel in though, as kitty claws can break through these and digest the toxins!

Stay cool out there over this next week or so, any concerns don’t hesitate to ask us and we’ll happily offer any advice where we can!ā¤ļø
